Browney, you're a legend mate. This isn't the first video of you acknowledging mistakes you've made, explaining why it was a mistake and how to address the problem moving forward. You're legit keeping BA's on the road with this channel.

I also think of it this way better I question myself and check my work than a bike going out and hurting someone. Ps: Mmmmmmm beard!

Good stuff mate. Wouldn’t tapping into the heater hose off the back of waterpump be the best water feed to the lower port…? 😬
@BrowneysGarage2 жыл бұрын
Plenty of better ways to do it, just get coolant to it! Sure it would be better there and a lot tap into the hard line leading into the lower thermostat housing, similar spot to where the factory cars had them.
@danielveldman46902 жыл бұрын
so my understanding, clock turbo on 20 degree angle low side >thermostat housing high side >return coolant line coolant system need good bleed,
@BrowneysGarage2 жыл бұрын
Somewhere around 20 degrees, but yep that's how I have it now. Did I read somewhere you were having overboosting issues with your Turbosmart wastegate? Get it sorted?

How long a tubo timer set for, if they aren't ran down properly, the bearings will run dry of oil as it only pumps oil when engine is running, but tubo will keep spinning until it stops, all the best to you all
@BrowneysGarage2 жыл бұрын
I'm not shutting it off at 6k rpm! 🤣 Turbo timer is a bit old tech, similar enough for me as taking it easy for last little bit of a drive and turning the car off at an idle. I believe some newer cars use an electric oil pump to flow oil for a bit after shut off but the Falcons never had one and turbo life seems pretty good without it - she'll be right?
@young119842 жыл бұрын
Sounds like convection, we have made external tanks and used an intercooler heat exchanger for stand alone cooling for the turbo. Be surprised how much coolant flow there is without a pump
@dylanzrim36352 жыл бұрын
Thermal convection is the right term from what I remember.
@young119842 жыл бұрын
@@dylanzrim3635 convection is the transfer of heat thru the movement of fluid, hot is less dense therefore rises and cooler is more dense and falls. Thermal is just an added word really
@BrowneysGarage2 жыл бұрын
Could thermal siphoning or a thermosiphon be a further system that uses convection? Or maybe it's just a simpleton way of remembering it for myself! 🤣 Either way I'm just glad it's working. Thanks for sharing, interesting to hear it working completely stand alone. Had seen people use it for different heater setups and what not so guess it makes sense, just as you say surprising how much flow it must be able to produce.
@young119842 жыл бұрын
@@BrowneysGarage hey man im all about using simpleton terms if thats what works for you and gives me another word to use when “convection” falls into one of those corners in my brain and cant remember it when i want to use it lol. I really like the way you keep it simple and dont use extravagant wordage because i dont have to look up words to see what they mean just to never use them again. Keep up the good work and cool videos coming..

nice man, i was considering a turbo conversion for my BA, but have decided to opt for a supercharger instead. every bloody falcon on the road is turbo these days. would prefer to run my girl at my local car club sporting something a little different even if it isn't the most efficient power gain for the price point, that said. i am just looking to make her a bit more fun, not turn it into a psycho bitch so the SC seems like the better option for what i am wanting plus the constant power appeals
