Holy crap that's a lot of trailer! That'd take some practice pulling. I'd consider a big Kenworth tractor or something as a rig to go with, a few more gears and weight for stopping the beast! I'm gearing up to practice a ton, stepping up my camping to a 40' diesel pusher. Been some time since I drove anything so big. I plan on a bunch of short local trips just to practice. Good time to live in BumF*** nowhere! No traffic to deal with, and lots of paved side roads. Will keep an eye out for you guys out there.

I have a suggestion to add to the medicine cabinet. I use an electric tooth brush. An electrical outlet inside the medicine cabinet would be so nice! This is a beautiful 5th wheel. Congratulations!!

Congrats, you two! I feel like you're family since we started our 397 journey right after you did. Chad was always so helpful when I had questions! We used to say WWCD (What would Chad do?) Since the garage was our office too AND we had a bike (now two), I can really relate to the new improvements. I'm happily sitting here in my sticks n bricks, but full-time RV life and the people we met as a result will always have a special place in my heart. So glad I had that experience. Ride safe!

Small tip, but I would love to see them use some sort of filler wood that moves with the TV (like they do on the top of the TV) but at the bottom of the TV so that when the TV is in the up position, it would help keep things from falling down behind the fire place. Hope that makes sense. Loving these videos.

Your new rig is absolutely stunning - I love it so much! Because you had been living the life, your input and design ideas are absolutely genius. I had never considered a toy hauler before, but after seeing this model, I could be easily persuaded! Congratulations Chad and Tara - it is easy to see your pro experience of actually LIVING in a rig for an extended period of time resulted in so many beautiful ideas coming to fruition in the main build. I would be remiss, however, to not throw a bouquet to Tara for her exceptional design ideas. Not only do they each have specific purposes, i.e., the softer lighting to ease the eyes, the completed aesthetic is jaw dropping. Your instinct to add natural elements and colours was spot on. Love The bigger bathroom. Much better space especially for a married couple. One thing I really like how it changes the look and feel of the whole space is the chaise lounge/sofa you have, much more residential looking and just makes the whole space look and feel more inviting. The bedroom is a great space too. Love the very accessible washer and dryer units. The under storage is great too along with the back up camera which I think is a must and the taut slide cover's as well. I wouldn't want the outside TV or audio system so I guess I'd gain a little storage but not much. I really like your new garage space and 1/2 bathroom. Very smart and much more like a extension of your living space. If I were the guest in there it would feel like I wad in My private room instead of just a bed inside a garage, much more welcoming space. Love that you are carpetless except the steps for your little fur family member, and you have washable throw rugs, I have now 5 small dog's and 4 cats so having a place more suited to them is very important to me and you did a wonderful job.

Wonderful! We are not full time, but I have divided my clothes and shoes to travel and home. Added a blow dryer for rv. That way I don’t have to load and unload every time. We travel enough, that we can leave can goods in pantry. Only unloading refrigerator and food items that would draw critters or spoil.

I don’t love the TV placement, but overall I do really love the new designs and floor plan that you guy’s came up with.:)) I absolutely love the lighter, brighter look too! My favorite colors to have around me are naturals, with greens or lavender accents, so I think that you did an amazing job accenting with the different lamps, the amber bottles, the green accents here and there. You know Tara, there is an old saying. “The available space will be filled.” I laughed when you were saying you had extra space in the kitchen area. I haven’t read all the comments so maybe someone else has already suggested this, but try cooking your bacon in the oven. I use a sheet cake pan, put a sheet of parchment paper in it and the pan will hold about 9 or 10 slices. Bake on 400 for about 15 minutes, but check after 8-10 minutes and flip over once one side is done to your liking, and then set time for another 4-5 minutes til done to desired doneness. Then refrigerate slices you don’t eat and just nuke for about 15-20 seconds in the microwave when ready to eat more. Or, use air fryer to cook 5-6 slices. Either way, no splattering oil on the counters.

Looks like you've made it your home. I love your special touches - it's very cozy and inviting. I agree with you, Tara, about that deep cabinet in the bathroom and actually emailed you with a solution early on in your building process. I suggested that in your bedroom, back near the corner, there should be a tall closet ( for more hanging space, shelves for clothes, brooms closet. etc.). That way the shelves in the bathroom won't be so deep, and that can be full length storage as well. Love your channel, and I learn a lot. I've already made some of your suggested upgrades to our new 391DL.

We considered that, but didn't want that whole wall to have the dark colors. But, I think they are considering a more natural wood color in place of the dark grey and that might be better for cabinet doors there.. 👍🏼

My husband and I will be hitting the road in about 7 years when I retire from 30 years of teaching. We ride too so a toy hauler is a must. We are keeping our house as a home base as we will be close to paying it off at that time. We will be shopping for this exact or similar model at that time. We are planning to buy one used. We love all the changes you made and how this seems designed for a couple without kids.

This is totally awesome! I love it all except the tiny water closets, because y’all are a trimmer size than me and it would be a tighter fit getting in/out, but also I have very bad knees/hip and I need more space since I can’t bend my knees back to get my legs to slide back out of the way. Also would prefer what is known as an elevated toilet, it’s for seniors or disabled, but it’s for the same reasons I mentioned last sentence. But I really love this RV!

I’ve bought a ninja speedi airfryer, it does everything, it doesn’t heat the room up, it also cooks rice and pasta, ar the same time as it’s airfrying it’s just great,it also cooks bacon with ease and no splashing fat. Speedi meals in 15 mins

If the tv is up, I might get a piece of plexiglass to stand up next to the tv when cooking. If the tv is down, I’d place something over the tv cutout to keep any debris from falling in the tv cutouts.

It amazes me to see ppl still cook bacon on a skillet/flat top. It's best baked. 400° for 10-20 min, depending on the thickness. My hubby flips them halfway, but I'll flip only if they're thick cut. A sheet pan with a wire rack is the best pan, and we'll foil the pan. Save the grease for southern cooking dinners and fried eggs. 😋

7.9 earthquake in Alaska and nothing fell off my walls, command strips makes the pictures become part of the wall. Using the right strip for the right weight and product is important too. I just love command strips.

My buddy bought this model after I showed him your original video on it. He has a couple complaints but overall very happy. My BIGGEST complaint is that the under body lights are wired in with the front lights so if you want a glow under your camper you're also blinding the rest of the camp ground. That seems like a massive oversight on grand designs part. The toilet is also crooked with the door so you have to sit sideways on the seat to avoid your knees from hitting the door frame. The pantry is very shallow and doesn't allow full sized cereal boxes to be put in sideways. It would also be really nice to have outlets in the storage compartment to charge batteries and ice makers etc. It's also really important to anyone thinking of buying one of these that there isn't heat in the garage. If you plan on using this like a bunk house or as an office like in this video you'll need some kind of space heater or convert the AC to also do heat. Besides those minor complaints I think it's fantastic!

Thanks for the feedback. We did a fix for the under-body lights: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZvYeWmgjLmXqrc We haven't noticed the crooked toilet issue. Will have to look into that. The pantry shelf depths have been deepened in later builds. That might be something the dealer can remedy, or the shelves can be removed and replaced. A pain, I know, but fixable. The pantry itself has the space, but the shelves truncate it. The garage is heated the same as every TH we've ever seen. Furnace vents under the door and heat pump via the ducts. But, it's definitely not enough heat below 40F. We keep a Dyson space heater running in the office for that.

Beautiful rig, love the shower!! Just a hack, we got sooo tired of cleaning the glass shower doors in our Montana after a shower because we want them to look perfect, we put a spring loaded shower rod inside the glass doors with a shower curtain that we draw when we shower. Have never had to clean the glass since. To dry the curtain, we put a rotating fan on the seat, close the drape and let it dry. Curtain folds tightly back against wall when not in use.

Chad, I just saw this video; terrificly done by the way; also, that it was done 3 mos ago; so, I hope you got the problem solved! However, if you didn’t, I’d have given you these two or three suggestions; 1) the door that opens into the plumbing area; maybe the seal on that door, needs to be changed out! 2) the little panel that you did take off, and, added a screw, I noticed the seal around the panel, looked very thin; maybe get a bigger gasket or thicker! Also, the leak could be coming from another bay door on either side of the plumbing equipment!! Hope it all works for you!!
