I came across your channel because of the Voidfall videos. I'm trying to learn it and get ready for my first play; I've seen rules videos, read the rulebook and I wanted to see the game in action so your videos really helped. I do watch campaigns, the Sleeping Gods would be cool, Scythe I'd like to see and tiny Gloomhaven. I'd suggest to try some.

I’m glad your child is alright. Thank you Mrs Narrator for the 4k camera! Congrats on the 1100 + subs! When were you at PAX? I went Sunday, played Revenant, bought some games, etc. shame I didn’t see you. Can’t wait to see your Anachrony content! It’s one of my favorite games. If you enjoy Sleeping Gods., I will watch. I’m into some campaign games but prefer theme games. Nemesis and Nemesis Lockdown are fantastic games to stream. The Earthborn interview would be great. I’d LOVE to hear an interview with David Turczi. Especially if you’re into Anachrony and Voidfall. You should get and try Star Trek Captain’s Chair. That is a game in 2025 that will be a huge hit and I think you will enjoy. Also, another game by David and Nigel (who created Voidfall) For your next Voidfall solo game, could you try hard mode of House Nervo, Today is Not the Day. I’m curious as to your strategies, depending on the starting tech you choose. Can’t wait to see all your content!

@stevenokeefe2681 Thanks for your nice thoughts and all your commentary--all noted! -I was at PAX Unpluged on Friday only. I also put my hands on Revenant (and promptly backed it!). Got a great sit-down teach at the Earthborne Rangers booth too (which is when I talked to them about an interview). Had a lot of good conversations with publishers that day, it was great! -Votes for Sleeping Gods, Nemesis/Lockdown, and Earthborne interview--got it! -I'm sure I could line up an interview with David Turczi at some point, but let's put a pin in that for now ;) I've spoken with him many times, and in fact I chatted with him at GenCon 2024 at the Captain's Chair demo. -I think my next Voidfall video needs to be Fall of Civilization because that's the only solo map in the original book I haven't filmed yet, but I can totally do Nervo/Today Is Not the Day after that. Jeeze, you're going to make me play hard mode though, huh? Haha

The new intro looks terrific and a sign of amazing things to come! Hope you had a terrific break and my 2024 was not that great also. Honestly will watch anything you publish as you love what you do. The only thing I try to avoid is spoilers on games I own. Even then, many 'spoilers' are not that relevant. Wishing you all the best for 2025 and looking forward to your content as it comes out!

I found your channel from your content on Voidfall, which is my current favorite game. On Mars is in my top 5 and I've only played both of them solo. If you ever end up getting On Mars, I recommend trying the fan-made Pathfinder solo mode. All the best in 2025!

@albinoorkalbertson Haha, yeah, I see you've got the Chronossus as your picture, I'm going to go ahead and assume you've got your modules down! Likewise, if you notice that I make any Anachrony mistakes, please do call them out so that I and others can learn. My strategies are probably pretty far from optimal, too, so advice in that arena is also welcome =) I still have to unbox Skymines. It might be my first fully 4K video (I don't want to start with a 3 hour playthrough just to find out during editing that I used the wrong setting or something. New equipment is scary!)

@ronperkins5398 I've only played a little (at the booth at PAX Unplugged 2024). I'm extremely excited for this game and I'll play a ton of it! I don't know, however, if EBR playthrough videos would be too spoilery? It's sort of emergent storytelling, but some people might not want to see some of the missions/cards. Haven't decided what to do about it yet beyond the unboxing.

But also at some level I think it signals that this is truly an independent channel--I'm just a guy who likes to play and talk about games--rather than something glossy that has a primary aim of getting people to buy the newest thing. It's a balance, for sure, but I want to maintain some of the grit because I think it demonstrates authenticity.

If you enjoy Voidfall with your eyes closed, you can expect just as much enjoyment from Anachrony with your eyes closed! hahaha As long as you're enjoying the content it's all good with me =) Also, is your handle by chance a reference to the band A Winged Victory for the Sullen? @@table_for_one (I think my last attempt at a reply got lost, going to try again) I really enjoy the sound of your voice, and it's nice to follow along with the logic of your decisionmaking. I can also hear the tension and relief between decisions and events happening in the game so it's pretty nice. As for my name, it's actually a much deeper reference - the Winged Victory is a famous depiction of the Greek goddess of victory: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winged_Victory_of_Samothrace . You can see references to her all over the place, like in your band.

Sorry to hear your child was suffering over the Holidays and hope they are recovered/recovering. Congrats on the BGG recognition and the bump in subs! Well deserved as your channel is great and a bit of fresh air in this genre. Looking forward to your Anachrony content, but if Mindclash reaches out to offer Trickerion for you play, I hope you'd consider it as I just got that and, oh boy!😅 Regarding your campaign piece, I would watch Sleeping Gods as I'm not interested in that game but am in Distant Skies or Primeval Peril so would enjoy seeing the mechanics of it played out but wouldn't spoil what I'm specifically interested in story wise, but that's just me. Love your stuff, so keep 'em coming!

@corey3145 Thank you very much--everyone is feeling much better now. I have not played Trickerion, but I would love to, and I'm confident I'd enjoy it. I'm speculating that Mindclash might release a 10-year edition this year (pretty sure it came out in 2015), and if they do I'll likely pick it up. Noted on Sleeping Gods. Out of curiosity, why do you think you'd prefer Distant Skies for yourself? Personally I felt that Distant Skies had some great improvements but also some new issues; I prefer Sleeping Gods, but they're still both great. I will probably play Sleeping Gods and Distant Skies back-to-back on an annual basis for the next several years. Absolutely love the series! It reminds me of playing Zelda games as a kid (high praise!)

@table_for_one I think I've been artiicially biased towards DS & PP due to many saying DS has reportedly "fixed" some issues & PP works the same as DS. I'm leaning towards PP since it's a smaller game. Sleeping Gods does look great, so I'm looking forward to seeing that. Here's to hoping on a 10 year edition release of Trickerion just so it gets on your channel! @corey3145 I started writing a long response comparing Sleeping Gods to Distant Skies and the benefits and drawbacks of each, but then I decided it would probably make a decent video. I’ll put that on the (increasingly lengthy) to-do list! Can’t go wrong with either though, top tier! Special edition Trickerion is very much an “I hope they do this” item-no idea if they will actually make such a thing. If they don’t, I’ll likely pickup Trickerion eventually, I’ll probably just wait longer. And Mrs. Narrator gets pretty nice swag on her birthday too 😉

Hi, new viewer here. Found your channel via your Voidfall videos. Got it for christmas and been playing it a lot since. Glad to see you seem to have a few of my other favorite games here as well, will have to go thru the Spirit Island and Terraforming Mars ones as soon as i find the time. Have you played Mage Knight or Frostpunk? Since you (like me) seem to like to fry your brain. =) As for campaign games, i recently got Purple Haze, and it had this nice 9-game campaign. Perhaps lighter then your usual selection, but fun game overall. Don't know how good content it would make put just to throw something out there. Other then that my personal campaign game experience is pretty light, mainly the Leader series from DVG. B-17 Flying Fortress leader being my preferred one currently. All the best for 2025, looking forward to see what you got coming up.

@gustavakerfelt6691 Hi, and welcome to the channel--so glad to have you here! I have not played Mage Knight, but I know it has a reputation as one of the all-time great solo games. I also have not played Frostpunk; I've heard of it and can picture the box, but don't know much about it. I imagine it's a very long campaign though. Honestly I kind of confuse it with Frosthaven haha, although I'm sure they're pretty different. Purple Haze is new, isn't it? I know very little about it but I think I know the one you mean. 9 games is a very reasonable length! Wishing you a happy 2025!

​@@table_for_one Frostpunk is one off scenarios, but you can mix it up with starting societies, and it has random techs and laws every time. So a bit like Voidfall in that aspect, only really hard to beat. Purple haze was just delivered from crowdfunding, so yeah, its new.

I think you're going to like Unsettled, it's a manageable 2-handed solo for sure. one recommendation I'd make that I wish someone had told me before I started playing is to planet hop (ie, don't do all the tasks in a box and move on to the next box); I really didn't get an appreciation for how rich the system is until I'd started a few boxes. I think it'd be easy to walk away from the first planet kind of 'meh' on it; but they take it to some really neat places.

I think I will end up solo-ing it at some point, but I'll probably play my first few games as 2-3 player with some friends just to get to experience it that way. Do you think playing it solo on this channel would be too spoilery for people? Or is it not that big a deal to see it ahead of playing it? Thanks for the tip on planet hopping! @@table_for_one the spoilers is a bit of a tricky one, you'll definitely have more success at a task the second time you've seen it, there isn't really variability in the tasks, that comes from the placement of the tiles, and the tech that comes out and when, so it's definitely replayable and fun to replay tasks, but when you know what's coming you manage the earlier turns differently in my experience. that said I watched a bunch before I played and didn't feel like that changed my experience playing it much; I think the easy answer is it'll definitely be too spoilery for some people, and in fairness that discovery is part of the joy of this game in particular, but I'd like to think those people that are precious about that probably know who they are and would click off; but I do find it's a really fun game to watch played also, and maybe spoiling one of the 3 tasks in the box isn't that big of a deal; apologies for the long-winded, non-answer hah.

If that's the case, I'll probably still play each task with friends first, but then come back and try them a second time solo, and I could record the solo playthroughs and post them. Good to know! Will probably be a while though. Still need to unbox it all and learn to play, and I've got a lot of other content to get to first. But at least I can plan on recording this eventually!

@kylehelm3619 Hey thanks! This type of video also helps me to gauge everyone's interest in different games/topics/genres so I can better select what to record. I'm going to play whatever I think is fun, but I'll only record what I think people want to watch. I am mostly a solo player too, but a lot of it just comes down to convenience. I'm always available to play when it's game time! I have not played Too Many Bones. In fact, I couldn't even tell you anything about what type of game it is. All I've heard is that there are a ton of expansions and/or promos haha. What else can you tell me about it?

@@table_for_one It is a dice chucking RPG where you play as asymetric characters called "Gearlocs" each game you choose (out of the base box) 1 out of 7 tyrants, once defeated the game is over. On each day you draw an encounter card, make a decision, and resolve. Usually requires you to battle, where each game can last 8 -12 battles. Being a game from Chip Theory, the components are THROUGH the roof. You get individual neoprene mats for each character, all with personalized dice. If you can get past the rulebook and just the amount of abilities each Gearloc has, and how fiddly the game can be, it has so much strategy on what skills to level and what abilities to unlock. Your battle map is only a 4x4 grid, but I actually don't mind the size, really takes into account how much your movement matters in those close battles. The cost of entry is pretty hefty but there is so much variability and content, I think it is worth it's price in admission. Worth it just to watch a couple of vids or so!

And you're a long-time viewer haha because you know my tastes pretty well. ISS Vanguard looks extremely appealing to me, it just seemed like a bit of a time commitment that I didn't think I could accommodate right now. But maybe someday!

Yeah it is a bit of a long game. Maybe 50 hours depending on your pace. But it has a good table space for its size and the saving/setting up is quite easy and fast. The binder makes everything smooth and simple. I’ve just got my hands on Andromedas Edge, it supposed to be game of the year material.

@joseliso3803 Haha well I would describe my pace as slow! But I'll keep your recommendation in mind. I haven't played Andromeda's Edge, but the reviews have been excellent, and others on this channel have recommended it as well. I think I saw David Turczi mention recently that it was in the running for game of the year for him, so that's a pretty nice endorsement.

Im my opinion It is ok to put campaign games playthroughs as long as you do not play each scenario but just one. Looking forward to Anachrony series. I believe threre are not many solo playthroughs of Anachrony with addons.

@@table_for_one For me it is purely just too much content for same game and I do not have so much time to watch same game over and over again. I prefer to spend it to see something new. I tend to skip many videos of other creators if they do it. All the best in 2025 😀
