Channel Update | Why I'm QUITTING BDO and What's Next for Putman Gaming?

Please take the time to understand my decision and continue to support my channel as I follow a new path. I am so grateful for all of your support while I was creating content on BDO, but I feel like it's time for me to move on and try something different.

The best thing about bdo is you can always come back and take breaks without the fear of missing out. Everytime i try something else but in the end i always come back to bdo. But currently i play alot of Mortal Kombat, Lies of P and cant wait for Lords of the Fallen maybe its something for you!

Yeah, I agree and this is a much needed break. If I do return I won't be enhancing anymore. I know it's "good content" but tbh my enhancement video were not the most viewed. My next upgrades are either PEN Distos, Debos, or accuracy accessories depending what I want to do. All of which are 150B+ each and at a minimum 100 hours of grinding per upgrade. I don't have the motivation to do that multiple times.

Man this happened to me about a year ago and had a break from BDO. After a year break. I recently came back to BDO and have made a pact to myself to never enchant lol. I just play more chill, try to do as much group contetn like gyfin, ndoe wars, gvgs and man it has been hella nice. New COD is looking kind of nice so I will be getting that and keep bdo as a more casual game. The trap is real tho, very mature of you to step away

I agree, the c7 bosses are crazy and you have to spend a ridiculous amount of time learning mechanics. Then every thing else is either a gear check or a protection check. I did enjoy the game it's just gotten old tbh. We need a fresh unreal engine 5 mmo. That has the same beauty but less grinding and more game modes to enjoy.

I'm just pissed off that the devs expect normal people to achieve TET fallen god armors that cost 2700 crons per 5% success rate tap. Or debo accessories that are months of effort that can just blow up in smoke, and cost even more crons. Gating upgrades behind extreme gear checks. Then they expect you to grind 100 hours for the boot upgrade with the risk of billions in crystals breaking.

Was wondering what happened to you, hadn't seen an update in a while. I remember when I first started watching you we were neck and neck in gear, was fun watching you progress doing jetina quest and stuff while I did the same. You went really hard into it at some point, while I took a break for a few months. Before I knew it you were 700 GS and I only recently got to 660. Honestly I'm surprised you didn't burn out sooner. Taking a break is definitely a good thing. My guess is that you'll check out some other MMOs, have fun for a couple of weeks, and then realize BDO's combat is just too good and come back. Honestly bro if you're burn out on BDO I'd suggest playing a game that isn't an MMO. Since you really enjoy a sense of progression, there's a ton of single player RPGs and other games that would probably scratch your itch without the annoyance that comes with MMOs. All these MMOs keep you on that same treadmill, and at some point you want to just get off and go actually walk some where. If you want some more unsolicited advice I'd also suggest that whatever games you do feature on your channel its stuff that you actually enjoy playing and not just you trying to please the algorithm of youtube. If you ever want some recommendations for games there's tons of stuff out there, especially hidden gems that fly under the radar. I play lots of obscure indie games so whenever I get burn out on something there's always something fresh and interesting. But you play whatever gives you joy! Just make sure it's not affecting your day to day, no need to get worked up over video games lol. honestly though games give you some life lessons: dedicating yourself to a goal is good and rewarding but often times once you reach your destination you feel kind of empty and realize the little moments in life and the relationships you have with people are more important. anyway best of luck man.

true words PA should give veterans players way more content and quicker cuz after 700/750gs theres nothing to do to improve in both pvp and pve which is sad and now a days new players get to 700+gs way faster then us veterans had to spend on...

Lost Ark progression is even worse then BDO at end game, you will run into the same exact problem. Plus the gatekeeping is just insane. Not recommended

Makes sense. Cant play a single game forever and expect to never get bored. I never thought i would get bored of wow I only played that one game from 2008 to 2016. A friend of mine in game died. Turns out i was super burnt out anyway i just didnt want to let go. That's when i started playing bdo. Now every season in wow, after we beat everything i cancel my sub to play other stuff. I find that after a break i have way more fun upon returning then if i stayed and dealt with being bored af like i use to. Everyone needs a break sometime.

Yup, I'm also an ex-addict. So when I started to feel myself spiral I had to step away. Hopefully I can find a game to have fun with again. I've been playing wayfinder rn and enjoying it. Yeah, the enhancement system is trash tbh. Some people get lucky and some people don't. Thats the name of the game though. I may play again some day. Hey bud, when I first found your channel through BDO content I was like what's this quirky guy doing he won't last then I got round to enjoying your content and then you put out genuinely realistic guides, grind data and views so I then became a fan tbh and happily shared your vids. Once you get to 700+ that's when the grind kicks in properly and I took a year away from bdo cause I got annoyed then came back had RNG on my side and shot up GS, got stuck into end game pvp and been around for ages and hope the same happens to you if you do come back man. Remember it's just a game, do what you enjoy ❤ sadly I'm still a BDOaholic and no other game interests me so I prob want be around buy I heard a lot of people went from BDO to try lost ark and had fun just make sure you don't swipe your card as its mobile game type monetization. I went to FFXIV on my break as i still wanted an MMO to play and it's a phenomenal game but doesn't get good til the 1st expansion, entire base game is like a tutorial and old school combat like WoW but if you get into it best PvE and dungeons etc out there. Yeah feel the pain of no progress.. slowly accumulating silver vs clicking is better for sure can’t hurt to take a break/quit for a while until all is in order in life, and allow u to enjoy bdo again if u so choose later on. def suck for 90bill to go down into nothing the vids were helpful seeing seasonal through entering elvia, into testing classes building your rotations of skills. i tried looking for your twitch. Couldn’t find one. Maybe create one if u come back to bdo or other games. Anyways gl in future stuff.

If you want a progression game try Eve, it’s not bad, you start out as low skill points and you can buy skill injectors with the ingame currency to catch up. I’m actually coming back to bdo after about 6 months to spend the j hammer etc then quitting again, but it’s always good to come back for a week or two. Also niche game but I have to mention it, ultima online Outlands. Old game but imo top 3 mmorpg of all time. Outlands is a great server, a good goal is getting the biggest house on the server, it’s many hours though So those are the best long term progression games I can think of, newer games will follow the “wipe gear every patch” track

Well, probably the best advice for new BDO players is to avoid roulette at all costs ;P BDO is like playing in a casino... the casino always wins ;) In order for the progress not to be in vain, it is best to simply accumulate silver, slowly, systematically, without staying up all night (I grind on average one hour every three-four days). And in the meantime, deal with other things that BDO provides a lot of: life skills, sailing on ships, creating new seasonal characters, exploration, collecting new knowledge, completing new quests... You can really progress in many aspects of the game, not only by improving your equipment. Even more so, remember that once you have the best possible equipment, the game is over and you can delete it from the disk, because the path to the goal is the essence of this game, not its achievement !

it's perfectly okay to take a break from BDO. Lots of people have done it too and come back after a while. Feel free to try the Lost Ark. But personally I think Lost Ark is much worse than BDO. I burnt out after a few weeks.

If you have mmo friends then Maybe try out World of Warcraft classic hardcore. Its a fun ride and the game doesn't start at endgame its a great adventure from lvl 1 , you play 1-2h doing some quests and slowly you gain lvl etc . Its also challenging because if u die , you start over again so thats there aswell.

90b silver sounds alot until you realize thats "only" like 90 hours of grind at the very most which is basically nothing considering how long you invested in the game beforehand really but i understand how some people might hate that, especially if you dont take regular breaks your series of progression was fun to watch tho, looking forward to what you choose to explore in the future

Here's the thing, play BDO and do progression with sweat and rage to reach the goals (sometimes quit before reaching) and when finally reached you have no idea what to do next aside grinding so if you wanna taking break from BDO and play something else its fine, you can comeback whenever you want 😎👍

We've all been here. I haven't yet hit the 700gs threshold but I'm only 3 clicks away and have failed 34 times. It gets to us, and that's why most people take frequent breaks. We're all still here to support you! BDO will always be around to come back to and luckily its one of the very few MMOs where gear doesn't get phased out in a patch. Try a whole bunch of different genres I'm sure we'll watch! I saw Warframe sitting on the screen in this video and thought man I should get back into that and would love to see someone play it. We like watching the gains you put out and your view on things. We will all definitely still watch!

We dont quit bdo. We take breaks. If you are 700 gs look for a NW guilld and just log in for that. If you find the right people its gonna be fun. And just progress at your own place. Slow and steady is the name of the game. Roulette and quit is for dummies.

TLDR: addictive gamba clicking made him quit. BDO In 2023/2024 as 680+ GS brings you 1b+ per hour on average. With market on all time lowest (aprox) and with spots delivering you 1b+ per hour you can get 725+ or more by grinding and buying from market. Gamba is a choice and BDO is world wide known for uninstalling humans since release. Remember one thing, Gamba is a choice and you have to accept that you might have a problem with it SINCE you react to the loss of silver. I wouldn't exactly say gamba made me quit. Yes I was aggravated from failing 8 tungrad PEN attempts and blowing 30 billion in cron stones to not even click a TET sub weapon. But the truth is I'm just burnt out on BDO. I have prayed since launch and have well over 20,000 hours in game. I just feel like it's time to move on to other games for now. BDO is like a casinò Is basically a casinò addicted game Leave all the grind away People do LifeSkill and Gambling for progression . There are alot player at 700 GS+ with 0 hour of grinding . I'm a grinder player and i really don't like the fact that a lucky player can beat me just thanks to his lucky on enchant . I preferred a guaranteed infinite enchantment system vs a casinò enchantment system , but without the casinò enchanting they can't sold outfit to burn .... On console if you want " TRY " a V Blackstar you need like 3680crons = 6 Outfit = 120€ ... Me too i just lost like 18k crons without do a single V and i'm really angry watching people do onetap V .

BDO is repetitive mmorpg with just SOLO grind > Enhance > fail > Grind > enhance > Success>Grind>RBF>no damage> Grind>Enhance>broken>broke>Grind>Realizing real life>Quit the game.

One of the reasons why i dislike the enhance system in bdo. Complete casino. Best gear progression was in L2 back in the day. You failed, but you could progress with a 100 percent guaranteed success attempt after few fails. PA should reward players that sit in the game for 6-8 years and yet, all focus on the new player. 700 gs is reachable within 6 months. Lost ark is a dead end

One of the biggest reasons I lost passion in BDO is the removal of one sided war declarations as well as it's too much focus on new player content. I reached 742gs for almost nothing. Bdo end game is pvp but they also turned that to new player friendly. Attoraxion dungeon just became another spot we try to efficiently make money from. New region is not as rewarding as it could be.
