The “Diversity Trainer” is a bit farcical. The issue isn’t that Ukrainian refugees aren’t aware of blacks and other non-white ethnicities existing in the UK, the issue is that their prejudices against such groups means that they don’t want to live anywhere near them. If you come to Britain and you don’t like the way the society is structured, you’re always at liberty to leave and find somewhere else more to your liking. 👍

Guys, I am working with the refugees for the last year and a half being a refugee myself and I believe that Ukrainians are mostly prejudiced and they will never integrate if they are so unwillingly accepting new cultures and surrounding changes. No matter how much money goes for integration and language learning courses/job seeking, adapting to the new cultures is very difficult if you don’t want to change and realize that you’re in another country from now, so it’s time to respect its customs. A lot of disgusting comments here. I am Ukrainian and can explain (if someone is interested to know the true). Ukraine (as many other Eastern European countries) is mostly “white”. Our countries have a relatively low level of life comparing to the UK, France, Germany. Therefore people from other countries and cultures are not so much trying to relocate in Ukraine. I lived in Kyiv, but first time saw black people when I was 15, and asian and African people are still a very little % of population. After living in the mono type country visiting multicultural and multinational countries, and especially capitals, is a new experience. Plus all of us had a lot of stereotypes about France and UK from old times - and you don’t see this multi national people in romantic movies of Jane Austin. This Ukrainian woman just said, that she is surprised, and of course she was worried how her child can get well with the other kids at school, especially if they look so much unusual for her and her child. Yes, we have some racist people, but clearly not majority. It is same shock, as take someone who lived all life in Africa and so mostly black people all the time to London, for e.g. It is just a skin, and some differences in culture, put people are people all with the same blood colour.

I heard Ukrainians were Neo-Nazis and I thought that sounded dumb due to their being radiacals like that in most countries. They denied non-Ukrainans trains to exit the country during the start of the war and I thought maybe it was just bad reporting. And then you got this happening. Im starting to see maybe they are not the kind and peaceful people the West made them out to be.
