Nigel Owens top man. Not previously seen much of Ed Jackson....impressed by him! Very thoughtful interviewing.

Agreed. He asked questions in a sensitive manner, gave Nigel space to fully tell his story, listened carefully and asked relevant follow ups, comparing it then to his own experiences. Great interview

What a great interview. I shed a few tears listening to his story. Well done also to Ed. Nigel has brought some great moments to Rugby. Sad he is on his own but he will find someone. Best of luck to him in the future.

Wonderful referee...so natural and held in so much respect around the world. He talks with refreshing candour about the dark spell in his life and the way he has emerged from that to become the world’s best sports official. Owens is a great example to humankind.

What an incredible, inspiring guy, Nigel Owens is. An incredible referee, watched most of his games, he’s refereed. Such a sad story of him trying to end his life. It’s so sad, that so many people ridicule a person, of there sexual beliefs. That was a great interview. The sport of Rugby has been so lucky to have had Nigel, for all these years. May his career continue.

This guy is the best thing to happen to rugby since Max Boyce - basically because the passion for the sport shines through. It’s like their blood is made from the grass of the pitch and their heart is a rugby ball. Both men have that magic, simply because they are so dedicated to the sport, the fans and their role in it. One thing, I’d love to see him ref a few Football matches. Those players wouldn’t have a clue what they were facing. A ref who doesn’t take any crap, doesn’t get flustered by crowds of players getting heated around him. He just sticks solid and doesn’t take any crap. Footballers wouldn’t get away with all the gamesmanship, deliberate dives and complaints to the linesmen etc. They’d be kept in line from the kick off. All that and a perfect gent. He is the bench mark, the guy all refs should aspire to match. You’ll never be that good but he’s the perfect role model for any ref. He is just so much in the game.

What a privilege it's been to witness Nigel's brilliant career. I think and hope he will progress into commentating once he retires from refereeing, and can give us an insight from that side of the game - rugby at all levels would benefit greatly

If this interview helps even one person in trouble, everything Nigel Owens did on the rugby field is as dust in comparison.
