Thanks for the feedback and the nice compliments everyone, yeah i have to admit my rollercoaster making skills still needs some refinements, I did use the smoothing tools on all of them I think but I'll keep at it and make them smoother in my next park :) Thanks again everyone and thank you Johnny 5.

I think it's terrible advice to tell him to slim down the park. It's not his problem people have computers that can't handle it. I say bring on the mega parks!
@Channel5Gaming7 жыл бұрын
I think you mis-understood me, i'm not saying don't make mega parks, i'm saying be efficient. You can still have massive parks end to end that visually look just as crazy. Use less super expensive tiny assets everywhere, use more landscaping and terrain, trim them down while still thinking big. At the end of the day even the best computers in the world can't enjoy these parks at 60 fps on ultra, yet alone 30fps at high. Thefor the advice has some merit. Technically map sizes use to be 1/4 the size as they are now, cause Frontier knew both the engine and computers wouldn't be able to handle end to end parks like this. They increased the size giving people more horizontal freedom, but now people are filling it to the tits again.

I think the Rise of the Jaguar Ride being lumpy is in order to make it simulate a Jaguar jumping around jungle trees? I find that kinda appropriate. But I think that the ride should have it less. Maybe only have the jumpy sections on when the track enters a turn.

Omg shoot me with grapeshot and send me to pirate heaven. Andy this park is impressive, i wish I had more words to describe how much effort is in this. Looks astonishingly awesome. I think i would get scurvy just trying to make it on foot around your park, and clearly we cant rely on those damn monorails, hahah. Me and my shoulder sitting parrot loved it, so thanks again. J5 I am a mega fan of these mega parks, and a mega fan of these long episodes and a mega fan of Channel 5. Keep up the great quality of work, :-)

I totally understand the frame problems with huge parks like this one... But if I was you I would just pause the game when you present the scenery and everything... and then play to showcase the coasters/rides... it kill the realism but the frame rate goes right up... Hope you do it for the other ones... But as usual Great video!! love what you do man! And the park is just great, especially the beach side... I don't know why but it feels really realistic... :D
@Channel5Gaming7 жыл бұрын
Yeah pause could work. This is also why I suggest people trim their parks down just like 25% so we don't have to pause. The jungle was awesome, but you could easily do away with half of it and it would make a tremendous difference. Beach was awesome!

The chap who made this clearly has a very good eye for theming, but Im a realist so like my parks to be realistic. The coasters are all far to rough, and would likely kill its passengers. But. your onto something mate, with a bit of time I think you'll become very talented at this game.

Very nice park. I understand the time constraints, but still think a longer video can work. Since you already split it by "scenery" or "walkthrough" then do the rides, maybe you could just add time links in the description for them, so people can watch what they want? Or post 2 videos for it, not sure what might work best. I like the whole shebang and would much rather you do a park justice than rush because viewers are goldfish =) Your commentary and intro take up a lot of time too, but that's what we come for! (well I do anyway) ALSO Johnny, thought you might be interested -- I am working on a larger park myself and have noticed that Z-fighting seriously reduces my frame rate! When I am working an area and have a lot of flickering (before fixing it ofc) my frame rate drops a bit. Once I fix it (bc I would anyway!) my frame rate improves a lot. Now you may feel vindicated at grouching at people for Z-fighting! =) JK, but I would recommend people try and fix what they can because it does seem to make a difference (which would make sense I think, if the process is constantly trying to figure out which item to draw [or drawing both], seems like it would take up some processing power, add that over a whole park....)
@Channel5Gaming7 жыл бұрын
Nice feedback Lauren. I don't like time stamps cause it promotes skipping the content i worked hard on to create. and splitting the video in 2 episodes is technically double the work and the 2nd half usually suffers. While I may have rushed a bit I really felt like we got through it all pretty thoroughly, and still got under an hour. People are welcome to download it and look at it more. I think the important part is we get a good look at everything and ride the coasters. Overall I think i took my time compared to the other KZbinrs who do these in 10-15 minutes. I don't mind them going long either, I just want to be sure we don't hit 1 hour is all. :) The FPS dropping from Z-fighting seems rather bizarre. Would be an interesting test be to forcefully cause a thousand Z-fighting objects in one save, then in another the same thousand objects separated and check the fps change. Normally Z-fighting doesn't increase the processing count, as it's still rendering the same amount of polygons regardless. So it seems kind of odd to me that this is what you found. There could be many variables effecting your fps in this testing scenario you developed, so I wouldn't be so quick to point a finger at Z-fighting. Although anything is possible, and this game engine is something I'm not familiar with in terms of its back in rendering.
@vthenarheqa7 жыл бұрын
Is it really that strange? Admittedly I've never worked on a rendering or graphics engine, but I would think to optimize it, you don't draw things that aren't "visible" to the camera. Thus, if two things end up drawing at once, that's double the processing. But yeah, I work on boring programming, so idk. All I know is, I was laying tons of "flooring", and it was all the same Z axis and was getting massive flickering. When I tried to pan over it my FPS would tank. Then I'd go back to fix it, pan over it and it was magically better. True there could be a ton more factors at play, but I don't even think the number of peeps was changing as this was a rather deserted area of my park. :o I would love to test, but no idea how haha.

Beautifully done park and attention to detail. A bit to confusing though, mainly in the town. If it were a real location, you'd easily get lost and spend way too much time just trying to find your way around. A location half the size would have been better with larger streets and paths IMO. Yes, it's realistic in the sense of being like an actual old township, but not good on visitor orientation. Definitely need to do something with that monorail though. Shouldn't be backing up like that. Seemed like the wait time was off. That fire from the volcano below the wooden coasters legs was an accident waiting to happen. I found it funny that, while watching, you and I would be almost spot on when it comes to noticing when a coaster has issues in concerns to being too sharply cornered, bumpy or wobbly in spots. :) The hybrid coaster had way too many lift hills, especially bad having one right after the first. The river rapids ride was excellent in construction, lighting and detail, but it had way too many lifts as well. You spent more time on those than the actually floating. As for the stork coaster, I'm highly surprised that one didn't have terrible reviews considering how amazingly dangerous it is flipping the riders to their definitely deaths. If the buckets are going to be like that, then the seats need to have over-the-shoulder lockdown restraints.

For your next episode you should build your own rollercoaster with sections of different parts of your favorite movies. For example, if you like Jurassic park and I know you like Back to the Future, you could have the coaster time travel from hill valley to Jurassic park or world. I hope you think this is a good idea and wish to see it in the future.
