Never understood the hate this episode gets. Unleashing a plague through stray animals is actually pretty clever and smart. In old days armies would fling dead bodies over castle walls or dump filth into a cities water supply to take them out. This is a pretty logical next step.

I had no idea there was a Catwoman spinoff in the works back then. Too bad it never saw the light of day, I would have watched the hell out of that series. Catwoman was the entire reason that I, a girl who grew up in the 90's with little to no interest in superheroes, decided to give BTAS a watch in the first place. I'd loved her in the Buron movie, and thought she was just about the coolest, most badass female ever, along with the ladies in the 90's X-Men cartoon (and the only reason I gave *that* show a watch in the first place was because of Storm and Rogue; don't try to tell *me* that representation doesn't matter). I thought I'd just end up watching the episodes with Catwoman in them, but I quickly found out that the show had SO much more to offer. Before long I was completely sucked in, and BTAS became one of my all-time favorite animated series. I came for the Catwoman, but ended up staying for absolutely everything else. Edit: Oh my god, dude, that Mandark joke at the end killed me, lol XD

"Mandark" as he was called is if I recall a consistent "villain" in the DC shows that have various bio-engineering as the basis of the plot and he eventually works for kadmus up until Justice league unlimited ,where he frees doomsday and gets killed

This show did such a fantastic job of handling all the Batman rogues and characters, that its kind of surprising how they sorta dropped the ball with Catwoman, at least early on. She just never quite felt right up until the episode Catwalk where she goes back to her old (and more fun) ways. Episodes like Cat Scratch Fever and Tyger Tyger took her character in weird directions and made her more of a victim/damsel in distress than what she is supposed to be. Its a shame too because I love Adrienne Barbeau's voice for Catwoman. The best DCAU Catwoman episode is actually the short "Catch Me" which has no dialogue and just great action, animation, and music, while also perfectly encapsulating the Batman/Catwoman dynamic that I wish this show gave us more of.

I agree that this series did not handle Catwoman well - one of the few complaints I have about the series as a whole. Selina Kyle was bland here, and her martial arts training and streetwise ways (she was originally a smash-and-grab thief rather than a burglar) were really deemphasized. My favorite version of Catwoman will always be the "psycho vigilante bitch" from BATMAN RETURNS, but I realize this series couldn't have gotten away with portraying that. Other female adversaries, such as Poison Ivy and Baby Doll, were handled much better.

I really liked this episode. Catwoman was one of my favorite characters. I always wished that she would become a hero like Batman and that there would be more team-ups, so I know I would have watched a spin-off series had there been one. I even owned one of the old Catwoman comic books. I think I shipped her and Batman before I even knew what shipping was. XD

Whether it's animated or a film Selina just can't ever get one over on Daggett, can she? It's a good character beat that despite the risks she doesn't hesitate for a second to violate her probation and do what's right. Even then, I doubt she could resist the temptation for long- that suit is just too good.

For me, this is my favourite catwoman and the one I desperately wish Bruce hooked up with. She wears the blonde well and everything about her design so just so striking, a modern twist on the classic, which is respectful to the original, while also creating its own identity. I wish there were more episodes between Bruce and Selina. As far as I'm concerned, Bruce and Selina hooked up and settled down and we never got any of that Bruce and Barbara rubbish.

I think this episode is perfect for Catwoman's arch in this series, alongside with "Cat and the Claws I-II" and "Catwalk". Serina is the opposite side of the law compare to Bruce. She didn't see as a burden or a duty, this is where she can be truly free.

This is a great episode for my Girlfriend who is the biggest Catwoman fan in the world. For me I would say this episode is another ok. But if I was to say what's my favorite Catwoman episode it would be the cat and the claw part 2. But i like that people support her. Shes a good character and Adrienne Barbeau is great.

"A catwoman series was proposed" One of the first of many MANY false startups about a spin off feature for her, not till that movie starring Halle Berry (the less said the better!) Actually I think the character still doesn't have her own animated spinoffor movie, despite being a character in batman arkham games, The Dark Knight Rises (which never led to a spin off to the character played by Anne Hathaway, which you think would be the best bet for a catwoman movie revival) and being in other Batman animated movies, yet she doesn't have the same spinoff breakout as to say Harley Quinn.

Its a common known fact, unfortunately, that whenever Catwoman is the central character in a BTAS episode - said episode is not very good.... Compared with many other Batman villains where they either improved their character (Mr Freeze as the best example, but also Penguin in the excellent Birds of a Feather episode) or make an above-average attempt (most of the other villains), Catwoman is the character that they failed with HARD. Her new backstory as an environmentalist/ animal rights supporter added nothing to her character - she is/should be a thief who likes to steal shit, wants to fuck Batman and will do the right thing when the stakes are high (but still steal those jewels!). That is enough character for her (also, isn´t there too many environmentalists all together? Ra´s, Poison Ivy, Swamp Thing (not in the show, but still)? Do we really need another planet/animal friendly villain?). This episode hammers that home - its not that exciting seeing a animal rights member fighting for the right of cats and animal strays and the episode gets (slightly) better when Batman becomes the central character. It is also not a good looking episode with quite some ugly and underwhelming animation (court room scene for example. Look at that judge´s face!) and it´s one of those episode where Batman is made too weak in order to give the villains a fighting chance. A long battle vs a rabid dog that should take Batman at worst 10 seconds to deal with is "a fun fight in the snow"? Come on Walter! Another sign this is a poor episode is the introduction of Dr Milo - a (very) poor mans version of Dr Frankenstein. He basically sucks as a character and tends to be in the worst episodes of the series (including one of the worst in Moon of the Wolf, an episodes that rivals Tyger Tyger in the "worst episode award"). I was so happy when Doomsday killed him in Justice League - a useless character altogether. Anything good? Well, Daggett is getting more set-up as a immoral businessman. He is a character that I liked somewhat despite his limited screentime and his plan is reasonable for a Batman villain. I also do like that he is able to dodge jail yet again - its (unfortunately) reasonable that his money protect him from consequences. I also do agree with Walter that Catwomans "classic" suit do look nice on her (miauuh....). And I suppose its interesting to see a more romantic side of Bruce (but other versions of Batman have done this far better). In general though - you should skip this episode on a rewatch. I still think Walter need to be harsher in his reviews (this episode IS a bad installment of the show), but I get the nostalgia value and do get where he is coming from. Verdict: 1 out of 5 bats
