The Riddler's plot of stealing information and Batman's revelation being Batman and Bruce Wayne because he chooses to be and not because he has to be, are two elements that are really unique to the film. But two good elements are not enough to save the film.
@user-dd7ze2kx4f6 жыл бұрын
Phantom9252 The plot element is interesting if it really focused on that as being the main conflict for Batman/Bruce Wayne. That was a huge problem with B: Forever and BatmanvSuperman. They both kept introducing interesting story ideas or elements but never built on them.
@anonymouslyknown65306 жыл бұрын
Honestly this could be the plot to a Riddler centered Batman movie. Just use the Riddler's plot don't use Jim Carrie, take out Twoface. The whole plot is Riddler getting parts for his computer to hack everyone's information leaving Riddles for Batman. It could be a mystery detective movie showing off more of Batman's detective skills. similar to what they did in Sherlock Holmes with RDJ. But with them giving use a fight scene like from BvS (warehouse scene) and a scene where he takes out like 12 people similarly to the Arkham games showing off his ninja skills. Not enough movies show off his stealth skills. have Batman hack a security system to sneak into a building and Riddler hack the same system turning it back on to trap batman. There are a lot of ways they could make a great Batman movie, But the studio would probably screw it up.

This film really did have all the right ingredients for a great Batman film but the wrong recipe. A film where Bruce is faced with whether Bruce or Batman defines him and whether or not he wants to be Batman forever, where he takes in Dick Grayson and tries to keep him from ending up as he did, and where the villains are Two-Face and The Riddler: perfect villains for challenging Batman's conflicted identity; that could've been a great Batman film.

I agree. That said, I do still like the duo of Riddler and Two-Face in this movie; it's honestly one of the best cases of a film having two bad guys work together that I've ever seen. Tommy probably was jealous over Jim Carey. They put Jim in the movie because they knew what kind of over the top performance they were gonna get. This was at the time when Jim Carey was a top box office comedy star, pumping out hit after hit. Tommy was probably upset because he thought he had to act as over the top as Carey, this is a guy who had just won an oscar for a serious performance. He probably felt like an idiot trying to compete with Carey for screen time in what was essentially an action comedy, hence the hostility toward Carey.

Fun fact: Riddler's original costume in the comics is closer to the skin tight thing he wears at the end of the movie than his now iconic suit and bowler hat. @@Bartman1989-i2z Not very good. He’s sounds like someone trying to be intimidating, while actors like Keaton and Conroy naturally come off as such. Batman is a lot more scarier when he’s sounds calm, giving off the vibe to his antagonists that he is in control of the situation and that they’re about to get an a** kicking that they can’t do nothing about. To put it this way: Bale’s voice is someone attempting to imitate a demon, while Conroy and Keaton’s are the voices of demons.

You know the thing that bothers me the most about Batman Forever? There's literally only ONE scene where Robin is useful, and it's the one where he pulls Bruce out of the rubble after Two-Face buries him alive. Nothing else in this film or Batman and Robin shows why Batman would ever need a partner, let alone one who steals the Batmobile and behaves like a petulant dick (ha) constantly. There's also the fact that Riddler becomes a villain for no reason. Bruce cancels funding for his project, so he decides to start sending Bruce riddles for... some reason? It's a good thing he turned out to be Batman, because I have no idea how he expected that to pay off. At the same time, he suddenly decides he wants to be like Two-Face and kill Batman, whom he has never met before the movie, because... reasons. What is the motivation of this character? I'm not even going to get into Riddler going "Why can't I kill you" despite doing everything in his power to not kill Bruce the whole film, or the fact that Riddler goes on a crime spree for most of the movie only for Batman to not confront or attempt to stop him a single time until the end of the film.
