Ya know. Nostalgia Critic made me realize something about South Park. There's a lot of people who don't like Sputh Park because they think it's just an inappropriate show with a bunch of swearing and adult jokes. If you actually pay attention to the episodes though, you'll see that Matt and Trey have good and meaningful messages to each episode. Sure the show has swearing and adult humor but they do it in a very clever way that makes it funny and helps prove their point. I think people should actually sit down and pay attention to some episodes lessons and realize that they're not just a bunch of people sitting down writing fart jokes. That's why I watch South Park. It cheers me up and makes me more aware of things that go on in the world.
@Vooblebooble7 жыл бұрын
I agree. Infact I remember one episode I think it was during the Cartoon Wars they poke fun at the fact they can have such strong messages, showing that even the creators are aware of what they're doing.

I love them because they speak about issues but they don't take the stereotypical liberal view that most television shows do, nor are they conservative. They split right down the middle and tell the truth and they aren't afraid to piss anyone off. I think Matt and Trey are most likely really good people IRL and I agree with them on virtually every topic they've tackled. They don't worry about sparing people's feelings. Not to start an argument but look at the comments the show has made about abortion. They aren't thinking, oh well we are progressive and open-minded so we need to watch what we say and tow the party line, women's rights and so on. No, they call it out for what it is, brutal, disgusting, selfish, wrong. They aren't afraid of taking a typically conservative standpoint on the issue or be ostracized by a leftist entertainment industry. They said what they felt and took an honest look without being influenced by those around them. Political party lines be damned. This is why I love this show more than any other comedy show I've watched in my 40 years. I love South Park.

A lot of people don't understand season 19. In season nineteen, being nice, acceptance and love aren't actually mocked. As a UK watcher i thought that to and it confused me, i was a bit slow to understand some of the humour. However, it is mocking the amount of Americans that rush to defend what they see as injustices before analysing the situation, before thinking about what people are saying and what it is is being discussed. So , for example all the frat style groups correcting people don't actually care about equality and happiness for all, they just want to fit in with a new fad and are still horribly abusive people. its a bit like what i've seen with feminism in America, it seems such a polar topic because so many people adopt feminism as a hobby and a fad and it just belittles the whole cause rather than looking at serious gender issues around the world. South Park was saying in that season that we are not changing anything, silencing someone doesn't change that persons thought. It essentially stated we all need to step back and realise we might need to have a look at the problems, to discuss and to educate rather than to pretend to be solving the problems while secretly making them go away ( gentrifying ). A good example is over where i live in Newcastle. We claim to be wanting to help and feed the homeless yet we've banned a number of charities from our city centres because of big companies moving in, we've installed spikes and slopes under potential shelter for homeless people to sleep while claiming to be a charitable and caring city. South park is pointing out that people are not helping anyone, they are simply satisfying their own need to be part of a fad of 'social justice' rather than actually making a difference through discussion, education and actions.

You actually managed to have a good chunk of my personal favorites on here. The only 2 missing are Major Boobage and The Ring. The Ring just being a funny shot at children's media being weirdly hyper sexualized but having a "no see, we're pure" loophole to keep them out of trouble, and Major Boobage spoofing the fear mongering of out of touch parents with boob themed drug trips and a politician style apology, with the B plot centering around Cartman hiding cats as if it was the Holocaust without him seeing the irony. But still, fantastic list.

Yeah, I really hated season 19. Especially when PC Principal was involved. What I really didn't like about it is how, like the real world, they treat the idea of showing common decency toward others as being PC. Do you think anyone who's paraplegic likes being called a cripple? Do you think the world likes it when we despise each other just because of race or culture? Do you think some guys like having their gentlemanly behavior (being gracious and charming) being viewed as an excuse to, as the season called it, "crush pussy?" No, it was all horrible; much worse than what Family Guy is capable of. I know the show is known for being outrageous in its humor. But season 19 took the original charm of the series and slandered it, thanks to the stupid 2016 presidential race. It especially doesn't help the fact that the living embodiment of Hypocrisy himself, Mr.Garrison is parodying Trump. A man so vile that goes against everything Garrison once stood for. Gay love, transgenderism and all that schlock. I can only hope Season 20 is better

No Raisins? I thought for you especially that would be an episode you'd have on this list. It had I think one of the best morals not just from South Park but any media outlet. It perfectly demonstrated the hurt and pain anyone goes through while dealing with heartbreak, summed up perfectly by Stan's monologue. It then goes to show the right and wrong way to deal with heartbreak and has the perfect ending. Talks about the good side of sadness and how life will knock you down and hurt you but you can never let it break you. Butters says it best when he says you need the happy times in life to help get you through the hard ones. If you're going through a breakup or just a tough time in general, no other show, movie, book, article approaches it quite like this episode. They do this all while keeping the episode hysterically funny. By far my favorite episode, but as you said, there's so many to great ones to choose from.

I really like your list. Not because it is identical to mine or something. I like to see how other people experience series (or other stuff) I enjoy too and why. For example: I´m not an american citizen and therefore I had nerver thought about your nr. 1 episode the way you did. 9/11 was not only one of the darkest moments in american history but in history of human kind. But it would be arrogant to claim that it has affected any nation more or in the same way than the american nation. It is interesting AF to see how an american citizen feels and thinks about this episode. Further I definitely agree with you that when it comes to SP it is so hard to choose a top 10 (or 11) because there are so many episodes and so many are on point on the issues in the world and fantastic in generell. ^^ Thank you for sharing your opinion on SP. @merylsilverburgh80818 жыл бұрын
+Crazy Eight +Thegoodoldaysafter911 First of all I wrote ONE of the darkest hours and that is definitely true. What you wrote isn´t news to me pal. But you are wrong in two ways here: 1. It wasn´t just "one tower". It was both towers, WTC 7, a part of the pentagon AND the people on the airplanes. Combined with all the civilians on the streets who got hurt or killed by debris flying around, the police officers and firefighters dying while they were saving people and some of them plus the people who helped cleaning up the ruins and rubble in the aftermath. Some of them died and still are dying as of today because of lung cancer they got from the dust they breathed in wile cleaning. 2. You can´t just go around saying that those lifes doesn´t matter in comparison to the lifes that were ended due to the wars in the middle east just because less people died on 9/11. Every death of an innocent victim of every war, terror attac or something like that is unnecessary and sad. If you make differences you practically say that one person/life is more worth than another and that is inhuman, wrong and in my opinion pure cruelty. You might as well have said that the U.S. deserved what happened that day because they invaded the middle east. That would be equally wrong. Just so wrong. Further more did this tragedy not only affect U.S. citizens. Many people from around the world worked there, were on the planes and struggled helping people as police officers and firefighters. Many families world wide lost their loved ones. Please start to think with your heart too and stop being so close minded. +HOPELESS ENTERTAINMENT Well, mama is a rolling stone. ;P
