notes from what i seen of fusion. Dancing isnt actually part of the fusion. but more of a medium to get in sync with each other. the main flaw of gems for fusion is that they arent really adaptable as its hard for them to change.(till its not) first time ruby and sapphire fused ruby basically tackled her. amethyst and steven had a heart to heart before they fuse. and earlier attempts of steven fusing with the crystal gems. failed because steven and them were not in sync. dancing was always shown as a expression of individuality. when the gem fuses. they match each others styles to each other without discarding their own style. while steven straight up just tried to copy it. but some gems like garnet just mesh well together. like the crew of lars. like the same gems, as they are similar to siblings or twins. but they dont change much because what they bring in to a fusion is the same. so they just get big. Tl:dr Fusions are made by being in sync. and there are more ways to be in sync than dancing. sports, games, everything you dont do alone you can be in 1 heart and mind with another.
