It's so crazy how drastically advice on raising a baby has changed over the last few decades. I was born in the '70s & formula-fed since I was adopted. The pediatrician told my mom at 2 weeks to mix in a little baby cereal with the formula at bedtime so I would sleep better through the night! LOL! It worked though & she said I'd only wake up once to be changed. Which was good for her since she only got 2 weeks "maternity leave" which she had to take as vacation time. The doc also told her to lay me to sleep on my tummy. The thought process then was that if babies slept on their backs and happened to throw/spit up, they could choke on it. So there are pics of me lying in the crib, on my tummy, covered with a blanket, surrounded by stuffed animals. On top of all this, both my parents smoked, in the house of course! Luckily I made it through infancy, as did my brother 4 years later. I'm glad we've learned more in the convening decades as SIDS incidents have gone way down. I *do* wonder though what we'll be doing differently 40 years from now!

@@thendralnirmal Hi!Well now the youngest is 5months old(both are girls)I dont know really wheter we do something as a routine or were just very lucky really with both of them,but day time the usual feeding,eating,playing going on.But what im doing so she can separate day and nights sooner is that every morning we changing clothes and have a little wash.So pj's are off.And at day time nap i make sure theres some background noise(not much)like wahsingmachin,tv or talking.And at night time bath and back to fresh clean babygrow and feed(the last one).This is when we make sure theres no sounds like day time and obviously not pinched dark but lights off.And therefore she has a nice day and night routine.And both of my girls are sleeping on their tummy im not sure really theres anything to do with that.One of my daughter the 5years old shes born in england and i remember when doctors and health visitors are warned me not to put her on her tummy as a new born(the most stupid thing ive ever heard)the second born in my country(hungary) and here is absolutely recomended like why not.?!And at last we are make sure shes definitely eat enough before shes gone to bed.1😉little tricks which worked for us.

My baby sleeps through the night from about 8 or 9 through 6 or 7. Sometimes I’m worried that that’s ok, but I always check on her in the night and she sleeps happily and gives a little grunt sometimes in between. She is putting on weight well and has grown two almost three sizes up, so I don’t think she needs more feeding in the night. During the day she’s napping few times, mostly between 30-45 minutes and 3 sometimes 4 hours. Usually one long nap a day and a few short ones. She’s very alert and loves watching her big sister running around. She likes being entertained with toys, and gives big smiles especially after asking up!

But I guess her tantrums r getting better. Idk, I lost track. I honestly don't keep up w/ no feeding schedule either. I just feed her when I've tried everything else, she seems like she's hungry. Jokes on the drs. She's at a normal healthy weight, & here I thought I was over feeding her. Only now, I've read babies know when or when they don't wanna eat. It is cute watching her grow tho. Everything she does is precious. Her existence alone is super precious. I guess she went to sleep full. Her baby pose w/ her hands above her shoulders, she doesn't have em in a fist. No video can actually really describe the two months, there are no words to truly describe the love, the sweat, the blood. My baby gets up every two hours n sometimes every hour for feeding. He has a lot of colic n gets gassy.. Pls advice.

Hi I’m a new father my baby turned 2 months old yesterday, we put him to sleep at 11 or 12 at night then he sleeps through till 8 or 9 in the morning, is is it okay to leave him to sleep that long without feeding?
@waywardviking20883 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely that is okay I noticed your post was from a month ago so I'm sure you figured it out by now but your baby will tell you when he's hungry absolutely just feed him on his schedule

My son is 7 weeks and he can sleep in the night 5-6 hrs. During the day only 1-2 hours.

My two month old is workin on laughing, she cough laughs like a-ha a-ha lol, she holds her head up a bit even though still a bit wobbly, but she becomes patient when she sees me making her bottle for her. I have a mini sleeping bag i zip her up in before bed, feed her in it after I've changed her nappie, and she's out like a light for up to 5 hours at a time until about 7-8am. That's when daddy and I tag team sleep shifts, which is perfect for handling this odd sleep schedule she has haha.

My baby is 5 weeks old and is constantly spitting/throwing up milk, even after burping after feeds. There are times that milk comes out from her nose. 😭

My 5 days old son can turn his neck side to side and he can left his neck. Also he can hold own bottle milk. Is this normal ?
@shana-kaybarrett-smith42376 жыл бұрын
No, it's not normal. He is way advanced for his age. My son does the same and many other things that if I should say, most people won't believe me.

My daughter going to be 2mnth old on 5thJan. She turned her self to right on 6th day. I guess that's normal too

My son did the same..
@cgcnona64075 жыл бұрын
The head movement is normal, majority of newborn babies can do that. Also you shouldn't let your newborn hold their own bottle just in case they choke on milk, or if they need to vomit, or burp.
