When I was around primary 4 or 5 I moved to Bedok Blk 544 from Lorong Engku Aman (my old kampong house was exactly at the bus stop at Joo Chiat Complex today) I was staying in Bedok until my family move to Pasir Ris when I was about 18 years old. My secondary school was BTS. Many happy memories for us living in the east side of Singapore. We can enjoy the laid back Changi village, katong, Marine Parade, Geylang and Joo Chiat areas. Great selection of food also. By the way I’m now 50 years old and I missed my childhood memories back in the 70’s & 80’s. Good times.

In early days of Marine Parade, I remember there was this seaview hotel. Then there is also a Yaohan. Some parts of my memory tells me there was an IKEA. But I really cannot remember. There was a Denny restaurant in marine parade centre. During birthday, you can go there for a free meal.

Bedok was rural when I was young, low rise. Indian Barbers then only charged $1.50 for a nice hair cut with a Indian head massage with a nice head adjustment (Crack ... shiok) in the end. Now Barbers (with a shop) are $25++ for just a basic hair cut (the kind in a pandemic you can DIY and save $150-200 dollars a year on hair cuts). Good Electric Hairs Croppers, scissors and comb only cost you $50.
@VeryNazStuff3 жыл бұрын
why not just go to a cheaper barber? it's not like all barbers are charging 25 bucks for a haircut

Full time jobs get a pay raise and bonuses every year. So after plenty of years barbers charging 8-10 dollars its realistic that the price is 25 dollars today. Even grocery go through price hike every year. Barbers are human too and they go through the same living expense every year. Why not you try taking a $1200 pay a month in this day and age. If you dont agree you can just cut at any place cheaper.

It's all well and good. Makes me wonder how come there are no indians interviewed? Is it a Taboo to to talk to indians who live in around Bedok? Even one commenter mentioned it how he enjoyed living in Bedok, growing up with his chinese, malay and indian friends. At the end of the day singapore is marketed as unique country by the tourist board for it's multi racial harmony. It's called 4 in 1, chinese, malays, indians and eurasians.

NEVER FORGET SIDEWAY SLEEPING [Shortness of breath? Old days where got oxygen tank but sideway sleeping. Cos human still can breath using one lungs after another compressed by body weight and alternate, if one side congested so someone still can breath after the flattern one had expanded] This is the universal practice for countering diseases that yet to have cure like dengue, a killer disease. Cos me live in a place call Jinjang in Malaysia that famous for gangsterism, so do hotspot for Aides mosquito. Inshort me was a dengue patient too, not only allergic to white egg. To survive this disease, one must aware shortness of breath, were one of the symptoms other than vomiting blood, high fever and red spot all over the body. Red spot mean blood in your body trying to find a way out, thru poresholes or diluted to the stage, when platelets count drop below 50. This symptom causes by virus pump into the patient by mosquito, so blood would not cast as they suck out from the patient. Just the different, virus pump by Aides mosquito into human would start breeding or how the symptom spread thru out the patient. But how a dengue patient could survive such attacks by the virus, which could see blood oozing out from ears and eyes during the final stage even doctor only can ensure saline water keep dripping since the patient keep vomiting blood also mean food could not be ingested thru mouth? No cure also mean immune system of human must react or die since doctor don't even know, how to stop the virus that keep diluting blood. And how immune system react mean white blood cell must possess something to fight the invading virus. Just 100 millions machine gun eat up space during production or how the lungs section congested since space inside a human only exist in lungs section cos stomach area, bound like a volcano or full with acid, mean not feasible in making machine gun. That is the main reason, why allergic patient, COVID19 and dengue patient showing the same symptoms (shortness of breath) since allergic patient only have a SARS chat as preventive measure, no cure and patient dropping like flies in China even clinic still open also mean medicine were not working. And why COVID19 patient keep dying from shortness of breath cos pressure of oxygen tank keep blocking those machine gun from coming out and congested till oxygen cannot go in. Inshort, only sideway sleeping could work when countering disease that yet to have cure since granny method cannot work against dengue but only COVID19 and H1N1. Why? Cos allergic actually were a contagious disease or how COVID19 exist in this world so do why new strain emerge, if an allergic patient were infected. Since mutation mean the disease depend on what coming out from the infected patient after the virus bypassed the subject or nothing to do with virus evolution. How someone knew allergic were a contagious disease cos his sickness once jump to 3 of his sibling or why pig hair also detected inside egg, used to roll their body. That is how influenza A were a disease known to human, just it cannot kill, if not bypassed animal (Google "Danny Woo Vk" in Bing for Granny Method that could cure COVID19 without going to hospital) If not, how someone assured granny method work against COVID19 since their symptoms were the same like allergic patient or infected by them.. (The Sun said burn Jews and Singapore for 2nd moon survival)
