Lekis so compassionate. The elephants are finally free I know that thialand is not the only country to treat animals cruelly, but how ironic it is that elephants are there so revered and yet so systematically mistreated. In almost a nonchalant mañner too. Lek is so above the normal kindness of a decent humans. I believe she feels exactly what the elephants experience when in chains, used for entertainment or work etc. She is an exceptional human being

This woman is a total sellout to her people , she from a wealthy family in Thailand so she has no idea what it's like to earn a living begging on the streets of Thailand. It's convenient for her to pass judgment and get in bed with lonely American housewives who like her have never been hungry a day in their lives and write checks to this cause completely ignorant to what they are supporting. The truth is unless these elephants are tamed and made to be productive, they are awfully hostile and dangerous towards humans. The term " gentle giant" is complete BS. They rampage through villages, devour crops, kill livestock and people. Elephants have a very dark side. There is a reason this woman is scared foe her life and the only people on her side are white women from the US and Britain who are completely clueless regarding this issue but keep the checks coming in..think twice ! Lastly there is no way you can assign complex human emotions to these animals who have a brain the size of an apricot. These animals are fairly dumb compared to other animals and are clumsy and stubborn. Don't believe the BS , it's a total utopian political agenda

There's a zoo in Ho Chi Ming city. The saddest place in Vietnam for an Elephant. Their enclosures are small and ALL the elephants sway and look so sad and dejected :( Don't go to that zoo...

One meters is expensive like a diamond, special in CENTER DISTRICT IN CITY but if all people don't go to the zoo, the amounts of money is very less and it more worse for the animal there at least, if family or animal lovers visit, buy tickets to visit & buy them some foods it's still better If everyone stop go to the zoo. The zoo is still not close!!! it take government money to running zoo& pay salary for worker but very less so the worker maybe...steal the amounts of money spend for animal if you're really animal or elephants lovers. Please keep visit zoo. Check out of the elephants is get treat good or free chain. So if you see the keepers did something harmful you can report them,etc.. when there is still visitors around, they can't do anything bad to harmful the animal cause they know there are eyes check out and look up at them!!!

@@tranlily3001 I can totally see and understand where you're coming from but, while they aren't chained, their enclosure is much too small and you can see the male elephant is wrought with loneliness. Perhaps moving the zoo and upgrading the facilities to say, just outside the city would be better for the animals and increase tourism. If they did that I wouldn't be surprised if the terrible ratings I see of the zoo online change into positive ratings. For the most part, I left the zoo feeling different from when I came in, very sad for the animals and i am not even an "Animal lover" I hope Vietnam doesn't take the criticism as negative but instead, as an opportunity to improve.

As I have grown older, my beliefs have changed. Humans have no right to use animals in any way, I don't care how well you think you treat them. Horses should not be harnessed or ridden, dogs should not be used as slaves to lead the blind. They should not be bred to be eaten - the life of a pig raised for slaughter is the same as the lives of these elephants. Birds should not be in cages, animals should not be gawked at in zoos. They do not exist for our curiosity, whether scientific or entertainment. animals do not exist for us - they exist for themselves. They are not your 'comfort' animals - find your comfort in your own world.
