@firedup692 yep, actl the wall behind forming the airport perimeter is build of bricks and likely would allow the aircraft to just smash through and continue gliding on the grass, stopping before the houses, but for some reason there was quite a tick wall to raise the localiser for ils 01 appr, which dint give way and yea the plane died

It's definitely the pilot error first. He should not try to land on the opposite side of the runway. He did not lower the speed of the aircraft and touched down in the middle of the runway. I think he panicked or wanted to land asap maybe he had over hours already who knows.

Absolute engineering incompetence to put such a huge concrete barrier that close to end of a runway... what did they think would happen if a plane ever had to belly land? I hope all the people who designed and run this airport over the years know they're responsible for this: that plane was fully intact on the runway, everyone was alive at that moment. That barrier killed them, not the pilot or anyone else, and the people who designed it (and anyone who fought against it's removal over the years) should be investigated for criminal negligence resulting in death, at the very least.

They forgot to lower the landing gear. That’s the consensus amongst pilots. So no, they didn’t do a “proper job”.

There was a manual landing gear knob. Not sure if that is also malfunctioned. 😢 Should not be cos its not hydraulic based.

Yeah, but we don't know how serious the issues were in the cockpit at the time. Both pilots could have been at full capacity and simply not had the opportunity to deploy it manually. The speed at which they wanted to land the plane suggests something serious was wrong or at least they panicked like there was.

seeing how the plane could manuvers and take another try on landing from other direction still mean they have control. and how smooth theyre lining the airplane in the runway. the bad things is why the plane landing in that speed and what happen to that concrete wall. i never seen other crash that involve some wall in the runway when the plane overshoot that. maybe some forest or mountain. but why that concrete wall??

The direction of the runway alternates according to wind direction so there's no wall on any runway. The doomed flight was not on a runway

I think we all know there was a bird strike. But that wasn’t the sole cause of the fatal disaster. Why did they land with like 1/2-1/3 of the runway left? Why wasn’t the landing gear deployed manually? Why wasn’t the concrete wall a collapsible wall in case of incidents like this?

As with most Asian cultures with the TOP DOWN APPROACH, I suspect that people or designers in the industry KNOWS that the reinforced wall shouldn’t be there. HOWEVER, even if One were to notice the dangers and raise the issue up. If It’s gonna COST MONEY, the higher ups are not willing to spluge on something that they view as “unlikely to happen”. That is, until someone pays for it dearly with their lives and ONLY THEN, will they be willing to make drastic safety changes.
