That tickles me. I'm laughing my ass off. Chinese domestic chips can't keep up with free-world chips. They never will. We don't want them using our chips in their military tech, which is a completely legitimate concern. China wants to be a superpower, but has a control-freak authoritarian ideology that is just not acceptable to the free-world. If they want peace, then they can stop trying to rule the world and can only join in the benefits of the First World's dominance when they join the free world. Considering that isn't gonna happen short of outside intervention, we all know where this is ultimately going.

*snorts* as if we can't produce our own. Trump's anti-EPA, so he'll just gut the EPA and we'll pollute as bad as China does again. It'll suck for everyone else, but that's what China's accomplishing here. The world's mad at the Reds because they are the global leader in CO2 emissions and pollution in general, claiming they are still "developing" (never mind having a developed space program.... that alone should disqualify them from being a "developing" country. Yes, India has one too, so they can no longer be considered an undeveloped or developing country, either. If you have the infrastructure to launch rockets and put Humans in space, you're developed. Period.).

They can produce a nuclear-powered attack submarine every four months, and the pace is increasing. When Australia received its first high-quality second-hand nuclear-powered attack submarine in 2038, the Chinese would have built more than 42 nuclear-powered attack submarines. The production rate of nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines is slower, but the pace is increasing.

I may be wrong, but as a lawyer, I feel like this whole thing is a "negotiation" between the US and China, not a "trade war". I at times support my corporate clients (companies) to negotiate for reduction of offices/premises' rent when the market is down. We would send a letter asking for the reduction, saying that the economy is not good, we are not making enough money to cover the rent, and rental market is also down, ect., and we may need to find another place if you dont reduce the rent. We will ask for a huge reduction, and test the landlord limit. The landlord may push back for a lower reduction or no reduction at all based on their assessment. From the tenant's perspective, it'd be better to ask than no. I think Trump will be doing the same thing, testing China's limit. Finally, they will reach a deal.

As an American I can tell you it is indeed not a negotiation. The US does not tolerate rivals. It only seeks to dominate and it tried to destroy Russia by stealing their assets and freezing them from SWIFT, thinking it would ruin their economy. The US military also kills indiscriminately and mercilessly. If you lived here you would know many (though not all, of course) Americans are truly heartless.

This [10:10] guy is arrogant fool, saying and thinking that they are ahead of US, Taiwan, and S. Korea on Techs!! First of all, Chinese are good at 2 things! Lying and scamming people money out of their pockets. US, Taiwan, and S. Korea already has a technology fall beyond that of what he was talking about! US, Taiwan, and S. Korea are keeping quite till it is time to release and right when they release that new product they are already working or the next gen products. Chinese think they are always the first ones to make this or come up with that, but the truth is they are naïve.

Vietnam won't be able to build those HSR, their biggest problem is electricity and constant supply of it. So before even laying those tracks they also have land issues. China is not interested to invest in Vietnam and have to provide them with the technology transfer. Even Vietnam previous effort dealing with Japan for the HSR has ended with abysmal. Nothing was really built. The whole project for HSR requires infrastructure to be built first before it can support them. Vietnam doesn't even have the knowhow to build bridges that can go through tough terrains

besides that problem why Japan didn't even bother to proceed with the project was that after 2 years they went back to negotiate the price of the land was already different. The biggest issue now with Vietnam is different area has a very high fluctuation of land price. Even communist Vietnam govt cannot run away from their own people fighting against them if those land are taken from them
