Congratulations to Dr Bosun Tijani on his ministerial nomination. I pray that he brings his experience to bear and transforms the Technology space in Nigeria. Having said that, I think a bruised Ego should not be the only response to a honest criticism, The Government and those tasked with the responsibility of running this country should understand that ordinary Nigerians bear a significant brunt of their actions or inactions and when citizens are faced with these frustrations they can vent out in unexpected ways. People can survive outside the realm of government. It is this tendency for patronage and rent-seeking that has turned people into slaves and sycophants to politicians and unable to say the truth to power. No wonder, the late Gani Fawehimi said that one must first be economically independent to be able to stand for the truth. He was tempted and lured with public appointments but refused because he didn't need such for his survival.
