In as much as the governor is the Chief security officer of the state, he is accountable for the peace and protection of the citizens and properties of the state, hence the need for them to liaise with the security agencies who are directly under the control of the federal government. However, if the IGP feels the need to place restrictions to certain government facilities to protect and ensure safety of lives and properties, he can swing in to action . Note: Governor Fubara had a close door meeting with the captains of the security agencies yesterday ..
