こんな事を言ったら旧来のドジャースファンに、それは違うと言われるかもしれないが、もし大谷選手を獲得出来てなかったら今年はプレーオフに行く事さえ難しいシーズンになっていたかもしれないと思える程、大谷選手が素晴らしい活躍を続けていると思う。

ベッツが心配ですね。思うに彼が不調なのは、大谷のためにメンタル維持が難しくなっているからではないでしょうか。シーズン当初は不動の一番打者で、MVPの本命でした。文字通り、ドジャースのお山の大将でした。それが怪我から復帰したら、大谷が１番で、自分は慣れない２番。盗塁する大谷のことも考えなければなりません。実力・人気の一番を大谷に取られていることの焦りがあり、力みに繋がっているように見えます。そして最近の大谷の異次元の活躍で、二人の差が更に拡がってきました。　逆に大谷は、「チャンスで、以前は（エンジェルス時代は？）自分が決めようと力んでいた。それを直した」と語っているように、力みが消えて、クラッチヒッターになってきました。　ドジャースは、ここ数年、ポストシーズンの試合で打線が打てなくて早期敗退しています。ベッツも打てません。それはベッツが大舞台に弱いか、過度の重荷を背負って力んでしまったのかもしれません。願わくば、ベッツも力みを捨てて、大谷を追わず、チームのために繫ぎのバッティングに徹して、新しい自分の立ち位置を見つけて欲しいものです。
