"Oh ferocious faced fierce open hair , adorned with Four hands || You the Darkest Night , you adorned by garlands of sparkling lights || You adorned by fierce Sword made of strong iron and a thunderbolt in your Left two hands || bestowing the bestower mundra and and Fullfiler mudra in your right two hands || You being illuminating like dark clouds of rains , oh darkened skin you riding a wild Donkey || You who has terrific teeths and fangs darkened face and you who have full bloomed breast || You are smiling in peace sitting on lotus | and to this form if meditated will bestow all prosperity and all wishes are fulfilled "
When the Goddess Parvati removed outer golden skin to kill demons named Shumbha and Nishumbha, She was known as Goddess Kalaratri. Kalaratri is the fiercest and the most ferocious form of Goddess Parvati. Goddess Kalaratri is worshipped on the seventh day of Navratri.
Goddess Kalaratri complexion is dark black and She rides on a donkey. She is depicted with four hands. Her right hands are in Abhaya and Varada Mudra and She carries sword and the deadly iron hook in her left hands.
Although the Goddess Kalaratri is the most ferocious form of Goddess Parvati, She blesses her devotees with Abhaya and Varada Mudras. Because of her Shubh or auspicious power within her ferocious form Goddess Kalaratri is also known as Goddess Shubhankari.
Goddess Kalaratri is worshipped on the seventh day of Navratri. It is believed that the planet Shani is governed by Goddess Kalaratri.

Kaalraatri is the goddess of darkness, she is destroyer of fears of darkness and dark forces, she manifests herself as darkness so that she can protect her children from evils of darkness and ignorance. Like a mother she will hold your hand pull you out of the darkness and make you fearless from evils of darkness. You just need to believe and completely surrender yourself in her devotion. Mother manifests many forms to help her children in various situations but always remember she is a mother and possess inherent qualities of a mother, a mother will always help even her unworthy children, but you need to call her out with devotion. May the mother protect all of us from darknesses. Jai maa Kaalratri, Jai maa Baglamukhi.
