I went to see this woman live at the Chase Park Plaza, it was her, Jesse Powell, and Calvin Richardson, and when I tell you that Chante`s voice is like pure water flowing through your body, quenching your thirst - MY LORD...she sounded UH-MAZING. Not to leave out Jesse Powell, who also sang his ass off....Two GREAT, Underrated Singers.
@misscleopatra28045 жыл бұрын
I agree. Chante Moore and Jesse Powell came to Baltimore on September 30, 1999 and I saw them live. I had the ultimate pleasure of being serenaded by Jesse Powell and took pictures with him and Chante after the show was over. What a night! I still get goosebumps thinking about it!

Chante Moore is one of the best vocal talents to have ever hit the music scene, and for those who've seen her sing live you know just what I mean. That's why it's so disappointing to hear such a talent waste themselves on these kinds of "modern" productions where all emotion and flow is replaced with hard "ghetto" hooks and rapid soulless electronic beats. Is this really what people want? You just can't compare this kind of thing to what made her so popular in the first place. Songs like 'old school lovin'', 'love's taken over' were melodic and soulful, and her vocals took centre stage. Musical timelessness is created when the song is personal and the artist is allowed to shine and pour emotion into it, that's why people connect. Please show us more of who you really are Ms Moore.

I am convinced this is how R&B is produced because it is easy for whites to imitate and ultimately dominate as with other genres of music created by Black. Just look at the direction of R&B now; hard melody, lots of riffs and loud music in the background with a high note or two thrown in. It has been going to that for a long time and the younger generation don't really have any Smooth, liquid soul is hard to imitate.
@KingVirgo-b9n4 жыл бұрын
She is def underrated..however I domt think this took anything away from her talent. In fact I think she may have gained a new generation that may not have known about her. I say hey There is nothing wrong with keeping up to date. Especially when u looked as if you haven't aged

Still beautiful. Still sangin'. Still worth her weight in gold. I understand growth and reinvention, but...man, I miss the Chante introduced in the 90s (and the Love the Woman album). She was the first image I had aside from Josephine Baker in Paris, France; elegant, classy, sophisticated, etc. everything I wanted to be; singing clean about adult mature beautiful love. Representing Black women in a way that is rarely seen. Although this is not my cup of tea...I will still support Chante anyway. One single doesn't necessarily judge an album. I'll still go get it. She is still a musical landmark of what artistry is supposed to be. Sorry, I just miss class and am SO tired of the trend with crass. :-(

"y'all weren't buying het shit" How do you know what I bought? "n word is apart of slang language these days" That is YOUR standard, obviously not mine. "stop acting like y'all are unaware" No acting here. It's called having standards--mine have not changed; when they do, that is what makes one "fake." A judgment of me you cannot make since I don't recall knowing you. Thanks for being the embodiment of "exhibit A" as to why I prefer...the old Chante. Look at what that kind of content attracts.
