Thanks, Mr. Canteloupe for making a page. Retimed it to get it aligned with the speedrun.com timing. The intro bit is about 29 seconds before your character starts moving, which is when I began my timing. The time that you see at the end is actually 13 seconds faster.

I never would have thought to go through the gold mine first while waiting for the cafeteria to open, I’d have assumed you’d lose more time backtracking to smelt the silverware than you’d gain by avoiding the wait. But you also use that time to pre-weigh the gold and carbon, very efficient!

21:25 There's a way to make this part boxless, the guard is not that smart while rotating when you are in the elevator

in the fortress you can probably save time at 21:29 . I didn't grab the box and hid behind the two that were there... You can't select it to hide behind but it still hides you when you're behind it. I don't know if I was just lucky though.

I'll test this out for a bit. If I can skip that box, then it's a huge time save. On my casual playthrough, I tried to hide behind those boxes and got caught. When did you play? The version of the game seems to matter for some stuff.

is it really faster to guide the hero closely with the cursor instead of clicking on the next thing?

I found that the auto pathing makes the character stop/slows at corners. Keeping the cursor close makes the character always run.

How much can you read the languages vs just memorizing what you need to do? I feel like after 100% I still relied heavily on the translator. Also are there any puzzles that vary? It seems like from watching there aren't.

I actually have notes on a sheet of paper in case I need to look up something. Most of the game is about memorizing the solution to the puzzles. No reading is required.
