These look delicious. However, I have found that putting the "hardest" vegetbles at the bottom and the most vulnerble to spoilage (i.e. lettuce) at the top allows the salad to stay fresh in the container longer. There are other KZbinr Preppers who use this technique.

I hold the Tempa for putting on when serving. I do the same with tofu squares or strips. I find it stays better and you can warm it up. I also if I make vegan cheese or buy it already made, I do not put it on until I serve it. Thr dressing either because it cooks it if you add lemon or vinegar. Peace! I am enjoying your channel just joined and found you today. Love the food prep. When converting to wfpb I have very little I prep so this will be a great channel for me. A question regarding the tempeh. Would you suggest steaming it before adding it to the marinade? I know tempeh could have a bitter taste. I’ve recently re-discovered Tampa - my husband it is Now his favorite source of protein - so I’ll be having it in our recipes as well.
@intany85762 жыл бұрын
@@robinfrancis6936 FYI, the bitterness of tempe is determined by the microorganisms used & the location the tempe is made. Some javanese tempe that is made in Central Java (Indonesia) don’t taste bitter, but just nice like soy. It’s interesting that different yeast and different location can really affect how a food is tasted 🤔
@intany85762 жыл бұрын
@@robinfrancis6936 I think the way to eliminate/cover the bitterness of tempe is by spices. Like, dont just steam them, but boil them in flavorful spices soup

Great video and food prep Chanty Marie. The food is amazing & yummy 😋. I would struggle with the berries part of the GBOMB outside of season because berries are expensive and tasteless out of season. Frozen berries are an option for smoothies but it's usually colder weather when berries are out of season and I don't like smoothies during the winter (it's soup weather). Chantry - this looks great, I will be trying - but a question on your salad dressing recipe - your website/blog talks about a 1/2 c of each type of nut, then you make comment about using any nuts to make up a 1/2 cup total - are you using a 1/2 cup total in nuts or 1 1/2 cups total? Loving your recipes, thank you for them! :)
@Chantymarie Жыл бұрын
its supposed to be 1 1/2 cups total, but I made it the other day and i think its actually best/ more concentrated flavor if you cut it down to just 1 or 1.25 cup nuts! then you can really taste the other flavors more

QUESTION: you mentioned adding flax seeds. I thought you miss the benefits if they are not ground up as they just pass through your system? Can you add them ground up to the dressing? From Mayo Clinic: Most nutrition experts recommend ground over whole flaxseed because the ground form is easier to digest. Whole flaxseed may pass through your intestine undigested, which means you won't get all the benefits.

Just came across your videos. I'm looking into eating more whole food plant based meals. I am a dressing gal, however I have a nut allergy and find that ALOT of dressing recipes on the Tube are made with nuts. Do you have any without the cashews?
@Sabrina.6822 жыл бұрын
I don't have a high powered blender that will get nuts really smooth, so when I see a recipe that calls for blended nuts, I sub with an unsweetened plain plant milk. Maybe try oat milk - it's on the thicker side. It always works well for me. I will use vegan mayo or plain unsweetened vegan yogurt as well as a base for creamy dressing, but that may not align with what you're doing with your diet as far as whole foods. Just a suggestion!
@sandypans402 жыл бұрын
@@Sabrina.682 Thank you for the tips. Unfortunately I am also a coeliac so can't drink oat milk although I think I have seen a gluten free one somewhere (I'm based in the U.K.). What's the problem w/ folic acid?? I thought we needed it. As a vegan I figured I can use all fortified foods I can get. That's why I don't make my own plant milks. It takes 10 day for me to get through a 1/2 gallon and they go bad. Plus I use different milks for # purposes. Soy milk for baking and oatmeal/overnight oats (more protein) and oat milk for coffee, cooking(mashed potaoes, bechamel sauces and creamy soups). But I use almond milk (30 cal kind, no sugar) when doing smoothies and overnight oats with muesli and yogurt. Who's with me? I never eat out. Maybe once a year. Do I need to make everything strictly from scratch? I already get all my produce from two miracle farmers whom granted me a no cost CSA share. I'm a professional chef ( unemployed) who can work with any plant food available. No allergies or intolerances whatsoever. So blessed to be where I am but always wondering whether I should get more strick about it. Background history of ED and Anorexia. Sometimes WFPB sos free can feel triggering, unless I had a serious heath condition to address. Which I have, but that's for another comment.sorry for the long ...

That’s a great question! Folate is naturally rich in leafy greens and other plant based foods but synthetic folic acid does not behave the same way in the body the way folate does! If you are eating greens you don’t need folic acid supplement and i read it may be harmful
