My father was born on Rosehill St. I grew up on Jasper Street. I spent many days in McPherson Square too. My grandmom took me there every week to feed the squirrels. It was my neighborhood library too. Many ppl feel bad that I grew up there but every bit of the person I am today is because of growing up in Kensington. Also, it wasn't this way. It didn't get this way until the late 90s early 2000s. Kensington used to be a tight working class Irish neighborhood. The way Bridesburg is today is how Kensington used to be.

As you drove past the park with the green lawn that's 'littered' with people, your spontaneous quip (paraphrasing) 'I don't think all those people are here for picnics' was spot-on.. . . . . You had way more patience than many of us, sitting behind the Jeep SUV that's ANNOYINGLY, SEEMINGLY INTENTIONALLY double parked. I suppose a tap on your horn would have resulted in a double tap through your head. The footage is so mesmerizing one doesn't mind the muddled, low volume. However, at the end when you have some vital specifics, adjusting to a lanyard mic would do WONDERS.

This place is the trenches and dangerous. All the addicts are battling trauma and every one of them is somebody's mother, father, sister, friend, aunt, cousin, etc and they need help before they lose all care, concern and feelings and start wishing for death because they don't know how to get out. I hope there's methadone clinics in Philly because cold Turkey is unreasonable I would know was close to becoming a statistic to this madness myself. Your completely numb after a while and then you lack concern for your own safety and eventually will do anything to get that hit. Losing all morals, care and concern for oneself. Once you don't care about yourself anymore you start doing more and more and worse degrading and humiliating shit to get money. Then if you arent high you cant accept what you've experienced and did to yourself and start hoping for death. Its a very vicious circle that extremely hard to break because people can't forget the pain and trauma they just added to the already existing pain and trauma that brought them down there. Sad state of affairs I wish each one gets help and always keep them in my prayers. Stay away from drugs not a good time. Death or jail is the only way out.
