What this meeting shows is that there is no diplomatic plan for "after the war with Hezbollah" like there was never a plan for "after the war with Gaza". The IDF has grown weary of incompetent politicians setting up unrealistic expectations (Ben Gvir: "there will be no one to negotiate with after the war if we win") and then having to deliver on the ground on their behalf, when the same politicians block the army recruitment from 17% of Israel population (religious people) and use the IDF to absolve themselves of their own incompetence (the Netanyahu cabinet had asked the IDF to shift troups from the Gaza border to the West Bank to enforce stealing Palestinian lands on behalf of the settlers prior to October 7...). This discussions shows a profound divide between the military and the politicians. No amount of US logistics support (bombs, fighters jets,...) can shore up for that. Gallant on this one seems to be the voice of reason. I would not be surprised he was shown detailed maps of Hezbollah defenses... it will not be a walk in the park for Israel it is attacks the North... Shalom.

The infighting is too intense and will lead to irrational volatile reactions and failed decision making, like when BiBi decided to support Hamas several years ago.
