I believe most people failed to realize that she didn't actually cheat on him. She was not in a relationship with any of her "friends" prior to the New Years night choice she made, also notice they both had their hand on her legs. He didn't completely realize that she didn't actually cheat on him until shortly after the boat incident when he was informed by his friend, "she didn't choose me that night, she chose you, she loves you, Jesse loves you, and even I love you". I don't think the "friend" was a good friend though for trying to hook up while things were going bad.

I've watched this film twice, I enjoy seeing Canada stand in for the excited states, I really enjoy Emily Mortimer and I am amazed she is such a fine actor. This story was quite the cliffhanger and it tells a tale of how a mistake can really screw up what should be sacred and the ultimate power of forgiveness. The story is totally Shakespeare in pattern and the character of Susan seems so female, believing her husband was a complete opposite to her experience of him with NO evidence. In my experience, a female will cut and run with nothing but a rumor.

This is not happy ending because a cheater will always be a cheater. Once you forgive and accepts them, somehow it triggers in their brain that in their moment of next "weakness" they will tell themselves that you'll forgive them again. I'll walk away from just once. A cheater is a ticking time bomb, she will definitely cheat again except next time, she will be better at hiding it from you

I'm guessing the xxy bit? and also guessing (not having finished yet);they missed a trick at the end, they could have added another twist in the final stretch and gone with he also has chimerism, his gonads have different DNA to wherever they took the sample to test from and the kid is his, 🤔 though that might have been a bit too comedy of errors for what they wanted of course 😁 also a bit difficult to see how you'd come up with a plausible reason for them to check him for that which could be naturally written in without seeming a bit forced, even if a paternity test for his friend turned out negative the natural goto would be there was another she wasn't admitting to, no one would reasonably go to that outside possibility and check for that.
