I use Korreks ceramic coating. Works like a charm. You get a better example of it working when you spray water with a hose or pour out of a cup. That bottle just mists it up.

Here's the scoop on the spray stuff vs the real deal vs the pro stuff from a guy who dabbles in detailing out of his garage. The spray stuff that you can get from the store is mostly marketing hype and will do about the same as a decent paste wax with similar lifetimes. I will caution you though, you should read the label on the bottle you used and make sure it doesn't tell you to throw out the microfibers you used. Real deal ceramic products leave small ceramic particles once dried and will not wash out. So if thats the case for the stuff you used those rags are now sandpaper masquarading as towels. All the towels that I used when applying ceramic stuff either go in the trash or get demoted to oil rags. The more expensive glass bottles that get put on an applicator are the real deal. They provide UV protection, and true water bead off to the point that you can drive/ride in the rain and immediately the water will be sheeting off. The dirt and bird bomb protection is marketing hype for the most part even with these coatings. The consumer vs the pro stuff is mostly just the concentration and longevity of the coating (more on longevity later). Pro stuff may last longer but you can still get really good coating without having to shell out to have a pro do it. Real ceramic coating needs a ton of prep work because the coating dries clear. Any imperfections or love marks will show through clear as day (unlike paste waxes) so you need to have a rigorous wash and decontamination of the paint as well as a full suite of polishing to remove any clear coat scratches. On my own car it took me about 5 days from start to finish to get it applied as well as a 24-48 hour cure time (where it CANNOT get wet at all) before it was done. Longevity is very dependent on the vehicle you put it on. I got about a year and a half out of my 3 year coating before the water beading started to get weak. The gloss is still there but it no longer beads water like it did originally. However I am an extreme case, I put 20-40k miles on that car per year in all conditions (rain, snow, heat, sleet, hail) so that coating saw it all. If you put it on a show car or bike that never gets wet I expect you could get it to last even longer than the sticker says. For the stuff the manufacturers neglect to tell you: If you have water sit on the coating and dry in the sun it can leave marks in the coating that do not wash out. I had this happen once and I suspect I'll need to polish the coating off to remove the spots. Im not sure the exact conditions that cause it but it definitely can happen to any ceramic coating and I'm not the only one who's had it happen. With all the work that goes into making the coating look its best I actually am not sure I'd do it again if someone wasn't paying me to do it. I wax my street bike as needed mostly becuse the prep process would be really difficult on the really complicated VFR fairings. Meguairs Gold class liquid wax is good stuff! On my car I'd probably look pretty hard into PPF over redoing the coating.

I did my XR with Gyeon One Evo! Unbelievable how well the paint reacts. In my opinion the results between a quick detailer and a professional coating are drastic. Worth the hefty price tag to protect the bike IMO.

I bought a bottle of ceramic coat spray and used it weekly diligently until it got low. Now I just wash the bike and after about 6 months I'm seeing the paint dry slower, less shine and more raindrop dots. Might try the old remaining bit and see what it does. Have been thinking about using it again since it now sits in the Florida sun for 9 hrs a day then nice garage the rest of not riding time.

To get rid of those surface rust on the headers, spray with wd40 and scrub the rust spots lightly with a Scotchbrite pad until they're gone. Then to maintain the now shiny headers, after washing the bike, spray the headers with a light coating of wd40 then wipe of excess with a cloth rag. Don't get alarmed when you start the bike and the headers start to smoke, that's just the wd40 and will only smoke for a few seconds. Mud and dirt will be easier to clean off of the headers, it's an old trick from motorcross to coat the 2stroke pipes 🤘

I bought a new bike just over 4 years ago. When I got her home I applied ceramic coating to the pristine paint. 4 years and 25,000 km later, part from a couple of stone chips and marks on the mirrors when I filtered through a very narrow gap in the traffic, the paint is amazing. Cleaning is very easy as the bugs and dirt just wash off without having to scrub. Water still beads but not as well as it used to, so, time for another coat this winter. Note: preparing the paint prior to applying ceramic coating is extremely important as the coating *_will_* seal in any blemishes. Most products also say keep the coating dry for 7 days to allow it to fully harden.

I came to you after watching a horrible video about the magic properties of this type of coating. I’m very glad I did. You come across as trustworthy, which is not something I feel about most KZbinrs who are recommending stuff. The ‘water don’t even stick to it’ video had us both laughing (and the Valentino Rossi phone call ) but mostly I enjoyed your honest verdict of this product. I’m already subscribed, but if I wasn’t, I’d subscribe after watching this.

I've bought ceramic coating for glass for the car I use (and then I've also applied it to the other 2 cars my parents own). It's great because I can drive 100km/h + on the highway and I don't need to wipe the window at all when it's raining. Should be useful also for winter for easier removal or ice in front of the windshield

Great video. I have applied Adam, ceramic coating on multiple bikes and vehicles. The ceramic detail spray is used for cleaning up light dust and dirt after applying a coating to the vehicle. I would recommend trying one of the off the shelf ceramic coatings and using the detail spray for quick cleanups!

I did graphene coating on my bike after the first service The bike looks brand new even after a year It doesn't provide scratch resistance but it prevents those micro swirls coming up on the tank It's much easier to clean and under the sun it looks very shiny It was a bit expensive but I feel like it's worth it I live in a rainy arae and cleaning the bike is much easier Most of the time a bucket of water or a house takes off most of the dirt if it hasn't dried up yet

Hey there! I had the same way of mind as you before, just washing, painfully drying it and good to go. My bike is a Triumph Tiger, 5 y.o., and you can imagine the nightmare to clean a trail after some rough roads sometimes... Recently I've been interested in detailing process, and decided to go for it. I bought a ceramic spray from Hendlex (well-known brand for real ceramic coating), deep cleaning of the bike (soap, water, and claybar to remove everything from the paint), a bit of work and tadaaa! Shining like the first day, water gets off fastly, drying is a piece of cake and extraprotection versus UV. Not so sure about the marketing "easier clean" though... For a light dusty bike maybe, or if you don't wait to remove dirt, but if you don't wash it more than once a year it will only help a little ^^

I paid over $20 for a bottle of Mother's ceramic wonder goop something or other. Huge waste of money. I hose off my lawn mower after every use and thought it would be helpful. Applied product, mowed once, rinsed it off... seemed fine. Mowed again a few days later, rinsed it off....no beading. Hosing the mower off with clear water washed out away 😂

I've personally only used wax sofar, from wd40's bikewax (which was really good and smelled nice), to snoax and nigrin's hardwax (which last way longer but are a pain in the ass to put on). If my bottled wax finishes, I'm eager to try a simple spray ceramic coat like in the video. Might even honestly get one for the bike alone when I get to it 🤔.. could also wash my bike again 🤔.. maybe next week 🤔

bought a cb300r... it is kept outside most days so whenever I do not ride it is covered.. that being said, the fact it is a newbie bike means that when I sell it, it would almost be slightly better if it was in worse condition because people don't want to learn on something shiny and new.. they want something a bit rough around the edges so if they scratch or ding it... well, it was already like that anyway. That being said, I am going to take the best care of it I can without going overboard... clean the chain regularly (despite my personal protest) and keep up with cleaning it/covering it.. but a ceramic coating? Feels like a bit much for a newbie bike. Edit: that is mostly plastic.

I think thats a very weird thought process. Sure beginners might favor a rougher bike to not worry as much when dropping it eventuelly. But not caring enoygh so it looks rougher just lowers the sell value My 2006 NT700 is old and time definitely has doen its work, but i regularly clean it and have it ceramic coated(the permanent kind not the simple spray bottle) and ppl regularly think its newer/more worth than comparable ines on the used market

@@someguy9520 I am absolutely going to take care of it and do what I can to make sure it retains it's value but I am not going to go out of my way to put a ceramic coating or that plastic coating on a newbie bike... if I did and tried to recoup the value in any way it would look like I was stingy and or asking too much for a bike others may just see as a stepping stone to something bigger.

I use ACF-50 instead. It's kinda same idea. Although I have thought about getting some bike parts done but I'm guessing it's different type of method used. As more like powder coating but thinner. If ever got my bike re painted (fairings) I'd use that plastic stuff after tho.

I use ACF-50 as an anti corrosion spray. Real ceramic coating, like Cerakote H series is applied by spraying on then baking. This so called "ceramic" coat that you apply with a cloth is not really the same thing. Ive used the bake on cerakote on two bikes ive restored, 86 GSX-R1100 and 87 FZR1000, mainly on the alloy fork lowers, and other alloy bits that i had vapour blasted to remove corrosion, and its really good, looks just like the factory finish.

There is a lot of false hype around ceramic coating. The long and short of it is. Coatings helps keep your vehicle cleaner for longer but the real benefit is , it makes cleaning so much easier. Will it stop scratches NO it won't. Will it mean never washing your vehicle again NO it won't. A 2 year coating on my mt10 lasted 4.5 years. As it wasn't used daily like a car. My new bike has been coated and even riding in the rain the bike is still cleaner than my friends.

Excellent vid however lets not use the word Polish casually when talking about paint protection. Polishing is an invasive/abrasive process. It removes the surface layer of paint/clearcoat (depending on what type of paint is on your vehicle whether single stage or 2 stage). Its what you would do in the paint correction process.
