One important contribution of extra style points in the later 2d games was keeping Akuma in the same pose and with the symbol on his back. In the early forms of the super, he just reset to the normal standing pose as the symbol fades out. But since the ps3 gen the part about the finishing pose became inconsistent depending on the game.

What if Morrigan's Darkness Illusion super is a Raging Demon but just a little slower and with the lights still on? The input is the same style. Demitri also has a super with a similar input style and that could count as a Raging Demon forgetting to turn the lights off. And the same logic for Skullomania's trademark and iconic super.
