I have a similar desire to have decorations or pieces that feel (or actually ARE) authentic! I want my house to *be* the creepy old haunted house on the street, not the fun house at an elementary school fall festival 😂 I tend to buy antiques and things that look creepy instead of the bright plastic stuff that target puts out every year. And I do still buy some target stuff, but I really want it to look like I raided a rich person's home back in 1890

@@anaerobic this is exactly how I feel! I definitely do buy some more decorationy decorations for like actual Halloween, but for my all year round stuff I want it to feel like it has always been there!

I know exactly what you mean about Halloween signs being cheesy! I do a sleepy Hollow theme for my living room, and I like to use vintage books, a real inkwell, and a large sign that is a page from the book. No statue of the headless Horseman sitting on the toilet for me. 🙄

Sleepy Hollow is one of my favorites too and I definitely always have a sleepy hollow decoration area at Halloween! I normally would buy anything sleepy hollow, and I do love some of the headless horseman statues, but yeah I feel like I am seeing more and more really cheesy headless horseman stuff and it ain’t for me.

I feel the same! I have never bought any Halloween there before, but I looked at their collection online this year and was like oh no, my wallet might be in trouble.😂

Anthropologie, Terrain, and Urban Outfitters are Philadelphia-based companies so I’m fortunate to have access to them. Terrain is sublime for Halloween! They have created a merchandise line based on a local town based on real buildings…the Concordville buildings. They may be pricey but they are GORGEOUS and worth every penny!! 😍

Have you seen the faux stained glass pumpkin that matches the style of that skull you got at JoAnn's? You might want to get it too. My boyfriend went to get the skull for me, and it was already gone, but he did see the pumpkin & got me that! The skull just now showed in stock near me yesterday, way later than you saw it at yours. Curious what state you are in since your local Jo's got it so much sooner. I am located in south Florida, and we usually get Halloween merch later than most.

I’ve seen the pumpkin in other videos, but I have never seen it at my Joann! Either they didn’t get it or it sold out when I wasn’t there. It’s weird because I live in Oregon and we usually get stuff later too.
