Did you already realize that this chapter intelligently solves what happened in The CodeMaster Chronicles Part 2? Where Tom has his final battle against Cromaxx in Prexxor, the place was in the middle of an earthquake, and in this chapter Smildon mentions that one day the earth shook worse than ever, the same day that thing came from underground, which means that Crellen scanned the Prexxor the same day the plague emerged from under the ground. It's those kinds of subtle details that blow your mind in a good way.

This was such a fantastic episode because it humanized creatures more than any other. Players can port in and out whenever they feel like it, but creatures are trapped in Perim forever. It's not a game to them, it's survival and man did I feel bad for Smildon when he said he had to fight every day just to live.

I feel like the episode where Tom met Maxxor the first time did that as well. Maxxor criticizes Tom and Chaotic players as a whole that they don't actually understand the troubles of Perim. That it wasn't a game to him or any of the other creatures. Their war was real and it's stressful, fighting almost everyday. Of course Tom did know that but never understood the depths of what he was saying until Kaz was nearly killed.

They should have made Chasm quest into a two-part episode. Part two would be exactly like blight fight except tom wouldn't use the robot from Gigantempopolis since that wasn't shown until season 2. Instead, Tom would use the viledriver. So there would be no need for blight fight. The reason I’m saying this is because I like the blight’s original design better. Season 2’s design was terrible.

Using the beta drome is actually pretty risky because you can end up revealing secrets in the location. Even exploring locations is public to view.

Thier match was public to everyone. There is no private matches, even if you wanted. Even the 105 vs 105 megamatch was there for anyone too see.

Smildon: one day, the land shook worse than ever before and something came out of the ground. Not a creature, but something. That could've been how code master Krellan had a location with an earthquake during his final match with Tom; Krellan was likely there when that earthquake occurred and then Tom discovered from Smildon that an unknown thing came out of the ground.

I always loved the inner monologue the players have when they choose their cards. Especially In the larger fights of 6-10, but even Payton and Tom using one creature each is still interesting. Their thoughts on picking battle gear, creatures and mugic is a really nice touch to the battles. The thought process behind it just always intrigued me.

And they act like friends too and have moments where they poke jabs at each other, tease one another, small little things like that. A couple episodes before this one they were swimming to an island and Kaz was complaining that he had cramps and Sarah teased him for it. At the end of the same episode Tom tried dragging them into another island adventure and they tossed him in water but you can see on his face as he went down he was smiling knowing what his friends' reaction was gonna be.

There is a way Tom could get Smildon out of the chasm but it would be a real roll of the dice, he could bring him a flux bauble and just flux around until he is somewhere relatively safe.

That can work. Chaotic players can take anything they can carry through perim like gear and mugic. Although because the flux bobble changes randomly. It could be dangerous. Tom would ask maxxor or gaarv if they can see smildon to stay with them.

@@ytw101 The main tricky part would be getting a flux bauble, they were shown to be fairly rare in the show, and Tom doesn't seem like the type to steal something like that. It would have made for a decent episode, the first part showing how he earned the flux bauble and the rest of the episode being them fluxing around and keep getting bad location until finally ending up safe like Kiru city or Najarin's home. Heck all the fluxing around would be a nice way for Tom to get some new rare location scans, plus he can bring Smildon stuff like food,water and even healing mugic to keep him in good health during the trip.

And besides im pretty sure maxxor could have trusted tom enough to lend him one. Another thing is that you can only have 1 scan at a time so you need to pick which one you wanna keep. A good way would be to have kaz with Tom so Tom can get one scan and kaz another

Everything there is from the modern day, but it’s so cut off geographically that it’s inhabitants have developed in their own way. Like the name implies, the creatures are tribeless and don’t have others to rely on, so they haven’t really developed much technologically or socially. Instead, raw physical ability is a bigger concern.

I’ve always wondered how they get the scans in the first place. We know Tom got Prexxor Chasm from Crellen and Crellen got Cromaxx from Prexxor Chasm, but how did Crellen get the location in the first place? By the looks of it, it’s not a very known location especially since codemaster battles are free to review, which means Crellen either has the actual card or he discovered Prexxor Chasm by accident while exploring Perim.

Probably the latter. Crellan, and likely all the Codemasters, likely explored much of the vast regions in Perim, scanned it, and used that as a marker for their journey. When Tom met Crellan the first time, it was in Perim, meaning that Crellan and the other Codemasters do explore Perim, likely to see how the world has changed and if there are new things for them to also scan as well. They are still players.

Hmm if we're to guess why an episode wasn't made was probably, due to all the earthquakes that were occuring, prexor chasm might have been split in two or even broken entirely due to the unstable tectonic plates, especially considering how frequent the earthquakes going off of what smildon says, it happens really often to the point it's a regular occurrence.

It would have been cool and scary if the blight was a virus in game, where if it damages the player. It hurts them for real. Peyton would get hurt and say, "hey i feel this, it actually hurts!" Then would use his song of recovery to heal, then tell tom to run and try to code themselves to get out.

i think it should respawn you on chaotic, you can't teleport to the location you died for a day and you lose all the scans you didn't register previously

@@southanime No way, If dying has such a small penalty, then people would do it all the time. It needs to be more severe. Maybe 1/2 of all the cards you have will get a 1/4 odds of disappearing. Meaning you will probably lose 1/8 of all your cards.

@@centurionquincy3899 sure, 24 hours doesn't seem like much, until you have to make a favor to a creature for a scan, or risk it all for a rare gear or mugic that may not be there when you can go back

@@southanime Think about the show in context: Most people won’t be on Chaotic every day. So being exiled for one day wouldn’t change much. If you died trying to get a rare scan and ported back immediately, you would already lose the opportunity. Plus, you are able to just travel perim, so you could just port somewhere close and go back there anyway

@@centurionquincy3899 the most conclusive theory is that if u get killed in perim, you can no longer use the scanner and online deck ever again. As reggie was locked out of his for a whole month because his chaotic version was imprisoned. So i guess if you die, your account gets frozen forever. And you have to start a new account, but lose the scans and online deck from the previous one. And the fact that the scanners already took your code, you cant go back to perim. Kaz mentioned that some players never returned after going to prexxor chasm. Meaning that they did die. 3:55

In a normal drome match, yes. But this is the beta drome. P;layers can pretty much do what they want. Thats why they can just pick and choose any location to battle in.

It is probably because it is either in the Beta Drome where players can make their own rules, or maybe it works if the players lets you use them.

They should have made Chasm quest into a two-part episode. Part two would be exactly like blight fight except tom wouldn't use the robot from Gigantempopolis since that wasn't shown until season 2. Instead, Tom would use the viledriver. So there would be no need for blight fight. The reason I’m saying this is because I like the blight’s original design better. Season 2’s design was terrible.

I personally speculate the reason that the blight looks so different. It was growing stronger from everything it ate and killed in the chasm. Once it was done, it would try to spread to other locations

They're in the Beta Drome. In the show's universe, the same rules don't apply in that Drome because it gives players freedom to do basically whatever they want. They can even use it as training as shown in this episode and Blight Fight where Tom isn't actually in a match when he's scouting Prexxor Chasm.
