Mo Reqasse yeah the Viledriver is a pretty awesome piece of battle gear, especially in the show. For the kid to have two of them he’s either very lucky, very skilled, or the far more likely scenario, the animators didn’t know the show runners planned to make that piece of gear into a plot point in another episode.

They do make a point of showing that some cards in their deck are what they had on Earth and others are scans they got in Perim, so some cards can be easier/harder to come by.

@@tazzracine a meme deck is basically only using one gimmick because its funny. In Yu-Gi-Oh the most common meme deck is just filled with pot of greed so your opponent never gets to play. This one is less obnoxious but still a meme deck since Clay sacrifices his entire team to just use Magmon and bring him to the lava pond over and over. The reason why this is an overpowered gimmick is because the Magmon card has Fire 5, which means every fire attack will deal an additional 5 damage, and the Lava Pond gives all creates fire 5, but also gives Magmon another Fire 5 since its his home. So every fire attack Magmon does will deal an additional 15 damage. In "normal" play you'd have have 10 different locations and you'd shuffle your location deck. So you have a 1/10 chance of playing at the Lava Pond during your turn. But Clay has 10 Lava Pond cards so he's guaranteed to play there on his turn. The flux bobble battle gear will also change the location to your next location card, since they're all the Lava Pond he can just force all play to be there to have his +15 fire attacks the whole game.

Probably, but it's WAY away from what they usually do. Also while the UnderWorlders and Mipedians are technically at war with each other (since the war involves everyone) but they rarely take direct action against each other either on-screen or in the card lore. I think it's because they're so far away from each other and the Mipedians don't have any nearby ways to get to the UnderWorld.

Funny thing. The Lava Pond increases fire attacks, give Magmon in specific stronger Fire Attacks, but reduces all Air Attacks. The location actually has no effect on Water attacks. The one thing that this episode focused so much on was completely false. Great narative though. Always loved these types of episodes that focused more on strategy and experimentation than adventure. At least a little bit.

If a creature has a Flux Bauble, at the beginning of battle between two creatures, the flux bauble lets you look at the top two location cards of the location deck and rearrange them WITHOUT changing the current location the creatures are already fighting in.

I know, they outright point out they know about his behaviour, but they seemingly don’t have any way for players to lodge complaints against him. Episode one he doesn’t even try to scam them, he tries to have Tom killed. I know the franchise needs recurring characters to use every now and again, but they could have had an episode regarding cheating, sportsmanship and showing actual consequences. Granted this was a show to sell a card game, but I think having an episode dedicated to the results of poor player behaviour would be important

How ANY of it works was never really explained. Within the Cardgame it allows you to look at and determine the order of the next 2 cards in either player's Attack or Location Deck. In Perim it gives you flashes of the near future.

We really never gotten an explanation on anything in Chaotic (location), the most important question is how it came to be? Why is the tech level in Chaotic above literally everything else on Earth? Why did the makers think its a good idea for humans to interfere and mess with another worlds population lives? Important world building questions are never explained.

I never got why Klay needed to be down to one creature for this strategy. At first I thought it was so Tom would use up his mugic but he still had 3 left before he lost maxxor. It seems stupid because maxxor was the only one on tom’s team who could do fire attacks, magmon or not klay would’ve had an advantage regardless of which creatures he had since Tom had no more mugic and ineffective attacks by the time magmon was as code.

Klay’s strategy needed to get Maxxor off the board as soon as possible. His other creatures were there to weaken Maxxor enough to ensure Magmon would have a ensured victory

He knew that toms team would be largely water attack creatures, except his favourite creature maxxor. So Klay used his entire team to target the one creature that wouldn’t be negatively affected by the lava pond.Magmon also gets a significant boost there, so it makes sense for him to be the one with the flux bauble. By the end of Klays team, Maxxor has low energy and the rest of toms team will be much weaker since the location will always be to Klays advantage. Losing his creatures wasn’t necessary, but it was just to make sure Maxxor would be a threat when he faced Magnon

Creatures with fire attacks get +5 additional damage. However, magmon specifically also gets an additional 5. Add to that the fact that magmon has base "fire 5" and his fire attacks deal 15 additional. It doesn't matter if maxxir can control fire too, magmon deals 10 more damage

When I was a kid and this series was very well known, I used to be an underworld player online, and almost always used Magmon Engulfed as one of my front liners after this episode. Gotta say, Klay was an asshole during the whole three seasons, but we can’t deny his and Crystella fast thinking to create a perfect strategy to defeat Tom (minutes before he entered the Dome); Magmon Engulfed attack at 75 of power, plus his special ability which makes 5 extra damage with fire attacks, plus the 5 extra damage with fire attacks of the Lava Pond, plus 5 extra damage with fire attacks for being Magmon in the Lava Pond (a place he knows inside and out), and to top it all being a place where Air attacks are reduce by 5 and water attacks are almost ineffective (even if it Isn’t mentioned in the card it’s just obvious) you get a monster of 90 attack power points (as strong as Chaor, one of Perim strongest creatures and leaders) in a place that he knows very well and where no one can defeat him. I remember destroying lots of other players with this strategy 😂

I am guessing Clay’s strategy was to get Tom to exhaust Maxxor’s battle gear and use up any healing or damaging Mugics Tom had with his other creatures, then have a lava pond powered Magmon tear through Tom’s water attackers, that’s why Clay had Magmon in the back

It's funny how nothing works in this episode. You can't have more than 2 lava ponds in a deck and lava ponds lowers the strengh of air attacks, not water attacks. Still a good episode and a great show.

Okay, Tom’s biggest mistake was Relying on Maxxor too much in this battle. (And yes i know about Crystella blabbing his strategy to clay.) For me, i would’ve given Maxxor Liqualizer so he has water attacks. I would’ve given Crawsectus a pyroblaster. That way he has fire attacks on top of his Earth and water attacks. A song of embernova would’ve helped since clay uses mainly underworlders. Geo Flourish would’ve helped too in his strategy. It heals 15 energy for creatures that can do earth and water attacks.

@ well that’s just how i would play the match. With maxxor on the field, tom would need to have Fire, earth and water attacks. With those fire attacks, crawsectus could benefit from the lava pond’s effect,

I don't know. They also forgot that Magmon has Recklessness, which renders him weaker and weaker everytime he attacks, which helps counterbalance him and that the Lava Pond weakens Air attacks, not Water. The Storm Tunnel weakens Water attacks.

But in Clay’s case in his narrow mind wish to destroy his opponent He didn’t know that his Opponent had a scan of Iron Pillar which would render any battle gear he had worthless A Shame he didn’t possess the Mugic “Song of Translocation”, because then he’d be able to salvage his win.
