I have many books by the same author so I’ve categorized some like that but on top of my bookshelf is for my riordanverse and Greek mythology retelling books. And one pile in my bookshelf is for Christmas/holiday themed novels

Super late but I only have one bookshelf so this is a dream! Mine is organized by vampires, short series, stand alones (all same size), cassandra clare shelf, and then a very messy extras/harry potter shelf. If I had more room I would be eating up these multiple shelves!

Looks awesome Mel!! I’m currently reading the physical book A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow, and listening to One of Us is Next. My main bookshelves feature hardbacks in the center organized by author/series, flanked on both sides by softcovers in alpha order. I think it’s A-L on one side with M-Z on the other side. Within the middle area in the author groups I’ve turned the books around with spines facing in. There’s always one book with the spine facing out, which is how I know who the author/series is. I turned random groups like this to create white spaces on the bookshelves for the eye to rest- my shelves are 16ft wide and I think 7 shelves tall. I like to create empty spaces too so it’s all (hopefully) more visually appealing, at least that’s my goal. 😁
