Will the mounting system work with my Flexx Handlebars? 2013 KTM 500 EXC?

alright so the one mystery i came here for wasn't answered: how the hell did you get the mounting arm around the handlebar tube? does that plastic really stretch that much? do you have to strip the handlebars?
@chaparralmotorsports4 жыл бұрын
Hi, the mounting kit comes with two mounts to fit 7/8 inch and 1 1/8 inch bars. Yes the appropriate mount will stretch over the appropriate handlebar. Thanks for watching.

Is there a better place to put the gos antena
@chaparralmotorsports5 жыл бұрын
I have seen it mounted above the headlight. Always in the open, but always subject to the elements at speed. -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
@509FUN2 жыл бұрын
The t antenna is the buddy tracker antenna NOT the gps antenna, that is why there are 2 sma connections. You’ll have minimized gps signal and no ability to track riders without setting up antennas right.
@chaparralmotorsports2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for pointing that out.

So after reading the manual, the trail tech pro has an internal gps antenna and the plug is just for an upgrade ability to get better performance in locking more satellites👍👍

My Beta RRS has the trail tech voyager, how easy is it to convert it to the voyager pro?
@chaparralmotorsports Жыл бұрын
Hello, we have not tried that upgrade. We would recommend contacting Trail Tech to find which parts you already have installed would be compatible with the Voyager Pro.

Can I keep the original hour meter and use this ? I like the gps but I don't really need the rpm, temp and hours. Do you sell one without all those but still have the same features.
@chaparralmotorsports4 жыл бұрын
Yeah you probably could but you would need to figure out a place to mount it while keeping your stock unit. We do not sell a stand alone GPS unit.

Can it be installed with a scotts steering damper?
@chaparralmotorsports6 жыл бұрын
Absolutely Mike. The mount kit is very generic and therefore is not very "rigid" on where it needs to be mounted. I myself would created my own bracket... but the handlebar mount in the kit does the trick. - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team

Perhaps you guys at Trail Tech should have thought of that when you came out with this product. It's a good thing Chapparal did a video, because if they didn't most people would be having a really hard time installing the Voyager Pro. Your useless owner's manual (or actual lack thereof) is worthless for the install. Don't get me started on operation it's uselessness for actual operation.

Great question Terry Ash. It all depends on how old your Voyager is... We have close-up images of each part. Just watch the video and compare to your current set-up. Be very careful connecting directly to your battery it will drain it even when not running. Connecting it through a circuit that turns off power after the engine is not running is a very good thing.

So did you just make a street legal bike illegal? No high beam indicator, turn signal indicator and you lose your check engine light too? Looks great for a trail bike though.
@chaparralmotorsports5 жыл бұрын
Farmer Dave thanks for watching. Nothing about the installation made it any less street legal. The bike still has 100% of its functionality + additional features. There is nothing in DOT law stating that you need to have "warning lights" for your headlight, indicators, etc... Thanks for watching.
@DavidBoucher885 жыл бұрын
You must be in a crazy state then. As a former licensed dot safety inspector, not having a high beam indicator and turn signal indicator when turn signals are equipped is an automatic fail.
@chaparralmotorsports5 жыл бұрын
Very interesting Farmer Dave. Here we need to have the lights, but there is not a requirement for on dash indicators... Or so I thought. I will check with a local DOT / CHP buddy... Now I am curious. Thanks for taking the time to watch and to comment!! - Kyle
@DavidBoucher885 жыл бұрын
No problem, in Texas you dont have to have blinkers, but you would have to use your hand signals. The law requires a horn, at least one mirror, and high beam with indicator, low beam thats always on along with taillight/brakelight thats always on. Laws are different state to state tho for example Iowa requires blinkers and two mirrors. It just caught my attention, not trying to call you guys out but in some states dot might take issue is all. It looks like a sweet setup and they should make a mount with the indicators like they have for the vapor/striker.
@defekticon5 жыл бұрын
I agree, I'd rather this came with a T-harness to keep the stock KTM dash even if it's tucked underneath the unit. The hour meter and mileage counter are good to have as well as the lights. Also it would be awesome if HighwayDirtbikes came out with a mount for it!

One thing I'm wondering is if anybody managed to avoid slicing the casing that carries the VSS harness up the fork. I think that's just a JST connector or some variant. I believe that there are tools to easily remove the conductors from these connectors. With many connectors, you can remove the conductors (the wires), route the cable, and then re-insert the wires into the plug in the proper arrangement. This video discusses it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKXCo3R_gLWfjaM
@chaparralmotorsports3 жыл бұрын
