What do you mean "of another Spirit"? See, this is inaccurate; and, you are so lost. There is one Holy Spirit. I have not seen any display of the Holy Spirit in the SDA Church. I can recall a gospel concert at the church I was attending. The Spirit of God moved upon me; and, I was shushed; and, told that Jesus should not be disturbed in the church. Well, I had heard it all, at that point; because Jesus is not dead, He is Well Alive, my friends. Jesus was crucified, died, buried; but, resurrected and forever lives....Wake up people.

Great interview. The lives we live as seventh day adventist is one of the most powerful force in spreading our message. Pastors in our area are part of the Black Ministerial Conference will allows them to have an impact on the community and build a relationship with other ministers. Speaking from personal experience as we go out to witness as a church, even though some folks are not receptive to the gospel we have an obligation to go out and spread the word as a witness. Keep up the good work.

Parts of the prophecies of the latter chapters of Daniel, for example, would not be revealed "till the time of the end" (Daniel 12:9). The same chapter promises that at that time "knowledge shall be increased" (v.4). Understanding the pre-advent judgment and the cleansing of the sanctuary are biblical truths that, though prophecied before, the church did not understand until recently. Yet not all do, for only "the wise shall understand" (v.10). Gnosticism, on the other hand, is not founded in scripture but is rather an attempt to critique and discredit the written word of God.

I am glad to be watching this video. When I was with the SDA Church back in the late 1990's, everything was about worshipping on the Sabbath; and, being vegetarian. There was no teaching on Salvation through Christ Jesus. I was ostracized in the church I was at; because my Holiness seemed to have scared people. At that time, there was a Pastor Stephen D. Lewis, who was preaching all of the Gospel; but, the Adventist Church treated him as a heretic; and, I disagreed. Today, I notice the SDA Church is still behind in times; and, focused only on the two things mentioned above. This, to me, reveals that many SDA people will not find themselves in Heaven; as, they are missing the mark. The Scriptures, clearly, teach us that "We must be born again"; and, none of this is being taught or preached in the SDA churches I have visited on been a part of. I believe the SDA Church means well; but, are Spiritually lost in darkness; and, think they are the only people who are found. It is unfortunate; and, is a travesty.

E.G. White commented on 2 Corinthians 3:18 by saying, "by beholding we become changed". It appears to me from this interview that some Adventist leaders have been negatively influenced ("changed") by too much interaction with the ecumenical movement, which, in order to maintain a particular status, is not surprising. Rachel Oakes could not have been kicked out of an Adventist meeting because she spoke the truth. Jesus fraternized with non-believers but He didn't compromise. Lord please help us.

Just because we don't allow TDJakes in our pulpits does not mean we do not love him. Jesus loves him very much, but TDJakes needs to love Jesus by following all of his commandments instead of only 9. He can't teach when he won't follow the God that he claims to follow. We don't dishonor God ever to bring people to our faith. We all have choice, if it hurts others that we don't want them in our pulpits, they need to think about how they are hurting God more by being disobedient. If they don't know then God winks, but that doesn't mean He wants us to allow them to disrespect Him. We love God. We honor God.

Reasonable points. This seminar was not for students who are usually taking finals during the council but for Pastors in the world field. TD Jakes did air his misunderstanding of the Sabbath. But he was going to speak on a common goal not a difference. Although he knows SDA's I doubt that he has professional relationships with us. In the context of mutual relationships our witness & light shines clearer.If our ministers could be influenced by Jakes error the sooner we know it the better.

One thing the Advent message should do to us is, make us recognize we are mandated by God to bring a message like no other to this world. When that is Lifted up; (the truth) it will draw all men unto Christ. Jn 12:32. Take SAVE T O SERVE MINISTRY for example, among a few others; you are getting "a certain sound!" the Spirit of the Lord is obviously accompanying the work. Then we must remember in our witnessing; this quote from Ministry of Healing page 469- 3 which should keep us "sober" "If we are to draw sinners out of the swift-running current, our own two feet must be firmly set upon the ROCK Christ Jesus.

Thank God I was impressed to start reading the ""Red Books"" for myself 5 years ago. Anti-typical Balaams.... Pastor Phillips was my Pastor for several years and I can say that his beliefs and influence are eccumenical. He had to be eccumnicial to justify his world-wide ministry including appearances on Saturday-nite live, Soul Train and visits to the Crystal Cathedral and jam sessions with evangelical gospel artist. This pastor along with his partner retired Admiral Chaplain Barry Black is an Evangelical, they are what the Spirit of Prophecy coins...a new party of professed believers. Our church was totally out of focus under his watch he brought in Jesse Jackson, Richard Smallwood, Jesuit Dr. Samuele R. Bacchiocchi. The turning point in 1994 when Evangelist Stephen Lewis came and preached the message we needed to hear....that was when I first realized the church militant is not the church triumphant, there are tares in the church from the top to the bottom. Chaplin Black is a speaker I've enjoyed in the past but he too has become eccumenical in his approach. I'll never forget seeing Chaplin Black come to a SDA church dressed as a Catholic or Anglican Priest.. He was making a statement which I caught loud and clear. Barry Black doesn't realize miracles are no sign of a connection with Christ in the last days??? Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light!!!

Thank you Chaplain Barry Black. I never heard of you until today. I've heard of Wintley Phipps; E.E. Cleveland, Walter Pearson, Doug Batchelor, John Lomacang; and, Dr. Stephen D. Lewis, who was ostracized for preaching more of the Scriptures than the limited version they wanted; and, others. And, I certainly know that E.G. White was the Prophetess, who established the Adventist Church. I am very familiar with some of the other 3-ABN Preachers of today (Doug Batchelor, John Lomacang, et al), from the late 90's; but, what you are speaking is true. The Adventists do need to cut this foolishness out that is being permeated.

Like light shining into a dark room truth gradually reveals the nuances as it spreads into the recesses of that enclosure. It is important to note that the further away light gets from its source the more obscure the surroundings will be. Who benefits more those that are further or those that are closer to the light? The only issue I have with the T.D. Jakes Invitation is that Jakes openly ridiculed the SDA faith. He knows what we believe and openly made fun of it by saying we only worship God on Saturday while he worships 7 days a week. You don't invite someone who openly discredits your faith to speak in front of college students who for the most part are usually still searching for the truth of their faith. this would confuse and disrespect the faith of the SDA church.

All those who confess Jesus Christ do not know him because they do not reflect his image nor his character! And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” You can't make disciples if you don't "fraternize"... sorry, let me use a more palatable word, "evangelize" to ALL NATIONS! You box out more than you box in. How can a a church of any faith be comfortable with only 4 members growth per church per year. I personally, don't care how a persons comes to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as long as they come to that knowledge. This sets the foundation for the building of relationship building... ie Phipps point in the video. Doctrine obviously has many in bondage to a belief system that is absent of the freedom that comes with the Grace of God through Jesus Christ.

Speaking negatively about something or someone (and by this i mean CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM THAT THEY CAN HEAR AND APPLY), is not necessarily a sign of disdain or disrespect. Wintley Phipps is speaking truth about the SDA people. He is not speaking against you, he is speaking against your ungodly behavior. You do not reveal the character of Christ in your behavior; especially, towards others, who are not adventist. No one is trying to join or follow you, when you are behaving this way. You are not living or speaking truth; and, no one is interested in living a lie with you. You are not offering people anything worth joining forces with you in. I can go to church and worship on the Sabbath; and, even eat veges; but, that is not the way into the Kingdom of God. From There, you begin reading, studying and living the rest of the Bible; including worshipping on the Sabbath, if you will. But, worshipping on the Sabbath; but, remaining with a lost soul is not the way to go. No one, in their right mind is following this. I have not seen the Scripture that says: "eat veges; and, you will be eternally saved". Nowhere in the Scriptures have I found it. Yes, "remember the Sabbath to keep it holy" is there; but, my SDA friends, it does not end there....!!! "Be ye holy, for I am holy" is also there. Why are you not Holy or Righteous? The non-adventist church is seeking after holiness, righteousness; and, to be more like Jesus. Vegetables do not make us Holy, Righteous; or, "like Jesus".

I am of baptist denomination. Although I have heard both men preach and yes they can preach !! Some of my family are Adventists but I don't plan on changing denomination. These doctrines we believe are merely matters of personal opinion and preference. Like belly buttons everyone has one

No, doctrines are not mere opinions or preferences. They are topical teachings of part of the plan of salvation from Genesis to Revelation. Protestant reformation history was an unfolding movement restoring the gospel and doctrines lost when the Bible was no longer taught in the Catholic Church and false doctrines, philosophies crept in, and traditions took the place of repentance and the gospel. The anabaptist movement was a rediscovery of the Bible’s teaching that on baptism is that people have to make an individual decision to follow Jesus and it is an immersion in water. What is the significance… the word baptizo in Greek means to dip, immerse, etc. In the scripture it was in rivers or mikvahs…. It symbolizes dying to sin, being buried with Jesus, and being raised to new live in Jesus. So the tradition of “baptizing” an infant and by sprinkling a few drops of water on their head was what was being taught instead. Also the belief that if you are baptized as an infant and continue in the traditions of the church specifically the mass- that is the only way to be saved. But that’s all a lie. And it lulls a person into a false safety of thinking they are saved because they were baptized as a baby by someone else’s decision, no confession, repentance, no understanding the gospel, of being converted to go make disciples themselves. But that isn’t the doctrine/teaching of the Bible. To be baptized a person is called to repent for their sins, believe the good news of the gospel, and then be baptized. A baby cannot do any of that. The Bible teaches a baby can be dedicated to God by the parents, but only an individual can be make a decision to follow Jesus and accept Him as Lord and Savior. So what difference does that make? Well it made all the difference. Because of you weren’t baptized as an infant at that time- you could not be a registered citizen of the state or member of the church. ( either which is a biblical practice, but tradition that affected peoples lives and taught it affected their salvation). So for over 400 years people were slaughtered for the choice and right to be baptized as an adult by their own choice. So this is an important teaching for the salvation of others and for people to understand and accept the gospel. This is what the anabaptist movement/Baptist movement contributed to reformation history. However the teaching of people going straight to heaven or hell when they die is not a biblical teaching. It’s not what the OT or NT teaches, it’s a tradition that crept into the Catholic Church and is still perpetuated in many Protestant churches. So one thing that accommodates for is believing that spirits of the dead can visit us or speak to us or in the Catholic tradition that they can be prayed to an intercede for us. But the Bible teaches the living know they will die and that the dead know nothing. We don’t have a soul, we are a soul. When the breath of God departs, we are dead. Those who died believing in Christ wait to be raised to life again at the Ressurection when Jesus comes. Those who die not in Christ are dead… and will rise to life again after the 1000 years mentioned in Revelation 20 at the Ressurection into damnation and be destroyed permenantly. Their destruction/punishment is forever, not the punishing. What difference does it make? A huge difference in how people perceive God. And anyone communicating with the spirit of the dead are actually communicating with demons. Demons. Not their loved one. They are not communicating with loved ones or seeing the spirit of loved ones. It’s demons. And so many people because they don’t know what happens when a person does go visit psychics and spiritualism church to find answers- but what is the source of the information- it’s demons. What we believe does matter. It matters what the salvation story is and the powers at work to distort the gospel and empty it of its power and the reality that we live in here on earth navigating the the spiritual powers of good and evil in our world.

Can someone share with me the scripture reference where Jesus received the word from other priests, spiritual leaders etc.? Jesus was on a specific mission to preach a specific message of the everlasting gospel unto salvation. Because of Ecumenicism and the need to be politically correct many SDA's have lost our focus. We have a specific message for a specific time (Character of God, state of the dead, sanctuary). When we visit these churches do we present these messages or do we keep silent?

I believe I remained in the Adventist church about three years; but, enough of the foolishness was just too much for me. I needed Jesus; and, it was not happening in the Adventist Church. I needed the presence of the Holy Spirit, which was not in the Adventist Church. I needed to talk-shop/Scripture with the Adventist people; but, it couldn't happen; because they did not know Scripture; other than the 3-Angels message. That was not enough for me.

Not all SDA churches are same. But the Spirit promises to guide us into all truth. Just because one church may be unbalanced doesn't mean they all are. Come to Syracuse Damita, or try another SDA Church.

It's in Mark chapter 9 verses 38-40. Given what Jesus said here, how should we respond in situations like this? What are your thoughts?

We are to love individuals, but once we stop calling the fallen churches of Babylon what they truly are, we will lose our identity and possibly our salvation. The world needs a group of believers to call God's people out of all false systems of worship and Seventh-day Adventists have the message to do just that. Style is less important than substance. As Paul told Timothy..."Preach the word!" The world needs the hard, separating truth. Let's not compromise it for anything.

And why do we need to focus on famous people? @dahlgren75 I agree with the SOP quotes but it doesn't allow us to compromise who we are in support of joining the ecumenical movement. If you're going to use SOP quotes to support your position, consider everything stated about joining into unions with those who trample on the law of God. We can love and form relationships, but when we forsake our prophetic calling, we run the risk of missing out on God's blessings as did the Jews 2,000 years ago. This doesn't have to happen.

The 3 Angels msg. calls not only 4 content but also 4 character. What world needs in these last days is "what it needed 1900 years ago - a Revelation of Christ" MH143. It's a church that keeps the commandments of God - all of them; and have the Spirit of Prophecy. Other sheep I have Jesus said and they will hear my voice and there will be one fold. Return my sister to the fold. It's not perfect but it has a destiny. The Lord loves especially his remnant church and will corrected it sift it use it to enlightened the world regarding the deceptions of Satan and reveal the truth about God.

But we must also remember that God has "other sheep" and we should be very mindful about labeling people as false teachers. Remember that we will be judged by GOD in the same manner that we judge others. Remember also that many of the pioneers that laid the foundations for the establishment of this blessed church were not Seventh-day Adventists. I don't advocate ecumenism and I believe that we should be always vigilant, but I also believe that we must engage our Christian brethren proactively.

If the Seventh-day Adventist Church loses sight of the mission and rejects God's leading, God will have others get the job done. His Gospel WILL GET to ALL the world. The servant of the LORD wrote that there is a ministry to the preachers of the denominations. There are many lines of work, many different ministries. We have to get out of the box. Being separate from the world does not mean aloofness or segregation.
