Lost my Aunt three days ago 😢 couldn't eat, couldn't sleep. They wanted to take me to the doctor, my wife refused. Instead, she took me home, cooked me a delicious meal, and played this for me, I laughed genuinely despite our loss and grief finished my meal, and even watched a couple more. It's fascinating to see how these two masters play with a very simple premise. Chaplin's performance is like a dance, with each dancer timing their moves with precision. Keaton on the other hand is pure physicality and bottled chaos, but equally as precise. Keaton's ability to take any moment of the routine and go in completely the opposite direction of what would be expected is certainly more noticeable than Chaplin's, but Chaplin played with the audience's expectations by subverting moments but inevitably leading to the outcome one is expecting. Neither one is better or worse than the other; both are masterful in their planning and execution.

I agree with you. They are true artists that perform on different levels within their genre. Each had his own unique style and are entertaining in their niche. I enjoy what they both bring to the table. Neither one could do what the other did. It's like comparing in dancing Gene Kelly to Fred Astaire, or the Nicholas Brothers. Enjoy them all, and be glad that there was such a wealth of comedic talent. The editing is extraordinary BTW.
