This was her first time at the VMAs. She’s been doing this for 10 years but was a struggling artist for years. She had never had any success and she got dropped by her label in 2020 and started putting things out individually until she released her first solo album last year in September and it’s slowly gaining traction. Her success skyrocketed pretty much overnight due to positive critic reviews, her undying support for the LGBTQ community and her love for drag (she considers herself a drag queen! which explains her style and the message she wants to share with the world) and this song Good Luck Babe! was just the cherry on top for her trajectory in which she became an overnight summer hit. The song Good Luck Babe! is about denying your s*xuality and living your life inauthentically because of it. I recommend her song Pink Pony Club and her album The Rise and The Fall of a Midwest Princess. She is a very beautiful person and someone who in my opinion will become a once in a generation artist 💗

For some background she has been working on music for 10 years and finally had a big break this year! She performed at Coachella & Lolla as well as other festivals this year where she picked up more mainstream popularity. Overall I think she's a great lyricist, vocalist, & performer so I'm excited to see where she goes from here!
