I don't know if you know the whole story, I'll write it down, skip it if you don't want spoilers . . . . So Zayne, Xavier, Rafayel, and MC knew each other in other lives and only these three guys (Zayne doesn't remember completely but dreams about them) remember those lives they spent with MC, but MC doesn't remember anything. So I think same thing with Sylus, they were together in the past before he or she died somehow and separated

they really should have gate-keept this story until you finished chapter 3 of the main story. i just downloaded this game for sylus, so i ended up knowing everything about the family death and aether core before i even played it, makes it very boring to sit through it now.
