The ancient Jews had a tradition of cyclical jubilee year to emancipate everyone from debt tho. The Romans put an end to this tradition when they took over the middle east. It is this Jewish tradition that Jesus fought to restore ..
@Jupiter__001_2 ай бұрын
@@ClassWarMatrix Technically charging interest to one's fellow Israelite was also explicitly banned, as was charging interest to one's neighbour. Of course, they had far too narrow a view of who their neighbour was, which Jesus rightly rebuked them for. The only "legal" way to end up in debt (and thus being enslaved that it might be repaid) was to take on a lot of debt for a business venture and then to lose it, but the only people who would lend without interest were one's family and friends. In reality, there are repeated calls for usury to cease in the Old Testament precisely because they were being ignored (along with the rest of the messages of the prophets) and debt proliferated wildly (and with it the literal and direct enslavement of Israelites by their own kind). The Year of Jubilee was a sign foreshadowing the true Year of Jubilee. The description of Christ's sacrifice for us as payment of debts we could never repay was not coincidental.

The images add a great touch, so do the quotes, graphs, data, other details, and even a few funny but yet very historical memes. The book I would say is 89% accurate, it does get a few things slightly incorrect here and there, but a few of those very tiny errors are is just a misattributed quote here or there, other than that, the history goes accurately from beginning to end. This must have taken the author ages to make, I was truly shocked at how educational this book was, I loved every second of it, I have learnt a bunch of new things that I did not even know. Believe me when I say this, this book is a massive game changer and is very entertaining, I highly recommend you give this a listen right now...!!!

Lol as a mate born and raised in Africa, i can confidently say that Govt failed the first year they were introduced and this book is one of the books to proof that. 3:03 the point made by the statement is incorrect. fiat currency by design will always lose value relative to commodities and therefore should never be used by soveriegn nations, only businesses that can repurchase shares of their own stock to compensate for the devaluation (via corp bonds read: junk bonds) should be permitted to devalue their currency. period. there are no ands, ifs, or buts about this. continuous currency devaluation (fiat currency) robs the poor of their spending power on a continious basis. Mises over here is a privileged child that would never have understood how fiat currency wreck the world for the common person. therefore he was incorrect based on lack of knowledge and this should be pointed out moving forward.
@peacedozer3 ай бұрын
I wish Stephen Mitford Goodson had placed this one statement about fiat later on in the book. The book is absolutely railing against the manipulations of fiat currencies, but this one sentence has caused more butthurt than anything except his use of the word 'corn' to refer to cereals.
@StubbsMillingCo.Күн бұрын
I would suggest you go back and ACTUALLY study Mesis and Austrian Economics. Keynesian’s killed our economy, the world!! They are for mass production of fiat currency. Mises wanted it backed by tangibles and understood that labor makes the money. You can’t just print it and hand it out. And you just can print it endlessly!! But you keep on with your Kenyisan “understandings”.
