the work you did with this series is incredible, I am in the foundations of my own story but I have never done anything like this and I would like to know if you could give me some advice or tell me what programs you have used to do it yourself.
@ChillingAbyss7 ай бұрын
@@azathoth8929 My advice is make something that you would enjoy watching yourself. Sometimes things might not work out the way you envision and that’s ok. It gives you a chance to try again and you may even get a better idea along the way. For programs I used Vegas Pro for all of my videos except for the newest video. The newest video was made with DaVinci Resolve. For 3D animation I use Blender. For art & graphics I use Affinity photo. For sound & music I use FL Studio.

26:18 It reminded me of the Black Forest theory, in which civilizations do not send or respond to any type of extra-solar communication signal (from outside their home system - extraterrestrial) because there may be "predators" or there is always a "bigger fish" in the game, and in order to continue to maintain themselves, they remain quiet.

27:25 The Forest is a story of a hunter in a dark, dense forest. He has a horn that he can blow into to call out to others, to end his solidarity, but he doesn't use it. He knows that if he blows into the horn, everything in the forest will be alerted to his presence, and not all of them will see him as a friend. So, he hunts alone, unknowing if he himself is being hunted

This series is one of the most creative uses of the genre I've yet found (plus it delves into multiple genres and uses an incredible amount of different techniques). Thank you so much for putting in the passion and effort that sadly is lacking in many other projects. The quality of the story and the quality of the visuals/audio make this stand up there with the greats. Very excited to see this continue and for it to get the attention it deserves. Seeing how much (what was already quite good) your style(s) have improved from the beginning to the most recent upload (at time of writing, The Farm) is truly inspiring). I'm hoping that leaving a superthanks on this video rather than the most recent release pushes it into the newsfeed of other fans of analog horror. Hope you're well. Cheers! Side Message to commenters: Consider giving a few bucks to your favourite creators! Don't' if you can't but if you can I highly encourage it. Donations aren't just for livestreamers :)

I am BEYOND thrilled to see a new ongoing analog horror series that keeps me watching for more than a few minutes. You have the perfect level of mystery and eeriness, not relying on jump scares or similar tactics, not spelling out everything exactly. Definitely have me subscribed for future updates! Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

@DCvsDJ14 күн бұрын
I think PW-1 has evil intentions and PW-2 is sorta saying to the main universe “this could be you”. Notice how they said “are you human” in their second message. And that when 2 intercepted and main was trying to have the connection stopped, 1 said that they can’t stop it. Maybe 2 had a connection with 1 before and that’s what left them the way they are. Barren and dead

Some good ideas, but like a lot of "analog horror," I feel like the point is being missed. My issues with the name of the genre aside, it's supposed to be believable - an artifact the viewer shouldn't be watching. There should be a verisimilitude to it. Analog horror with a lot of animation or using CG environments will strike the viewer as obviously fictional and thus, not real. The verisimilitude also gets broken when the "recording" aspect breaks with how actual recordings function or when there are sounds where there wouldn't be. For example, there is a massive overuse of ambient noise to amp up tension in these... only it's not used diegetically. In The Signal, where's the rumbling chant coming from? If you were just recording a monitor showing the progress of the signals, how would that sound be there, especially with 1980s computer technology? As a viewer, I shouldn't be asking that question... yet, here I am. I'm taken out of the experience. Local 58 got these aspects right. They're presented as recordings of odd, disparate events that happened to get caught on video tape and the viewer is given no reason to question that. The artifacting of the video can be chalked up to either tape degradation or signal interference, never because "wouldn't it be creepy if...". It's also consistent with the _kinds_ of artifacting you find on either analog signals or digital signals. There isn't static on CRT computer monitors, for example. The only music you hear is either the station's muzak or something in the background of the hijacking signal. Again, it's never there because "wouldn't it be creepy if...". Less _is_ sometimes more. There's definitely potential in this format - Local 58 obviously proved that - but the potential isn't in "here's a creepy thing, but with video distortions." It's the verisimilitude that makes it work... and everyone who came after Local 58 seems to ignore that.
