The spirit sometimes knows when it is time to go home. It is peaceful when the body of the human and the will stops fighting and instead, gives into "going home". I heard my grandmother speak into the spirit, saying, "I want to go home.", which was confirmed in a frantic call from my sister the next day. I went to her bedside and told her it is okay to go home and I prayed over her. From that point on, she started the process. Three and a half days later, she transferred on to the next dimension. We also can go into a spiritual realm while in our earthen state, just not as far as the spiritman when he goes home.
