Hayatus Sahaba is a tome written by Maulana Muhammad Yusuf Kandhelwi (RA) which consists of more than 2000 pages chronicling events and incidents involving the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them)
While all the Sahabah are very important in the Islamic faith, the most notable and important are the ten who were promised paradise by the Prophet Muhammad: Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali, Talhah, Zubair, Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf, Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas, Sa`îd ibn Zayd, and Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah.
This Book was originally written in Arabic by well-known scholar Maulavi Muhammad Yusuf Kandhlawi (Rah), has been highly acclaimed as one of the most authentic book of its kind.
Tablighi Jamaat focuses on religion and generally avoids political activities and debates, claiming that the reformation of society will be achieved through personal spiritual renewal. It has been criticized by some Muslims for being too pacifist/quietist.
Tamim ibn Zayd al-Ansari (Arabic: تميم بن زيد الأنصاري, romanized: Tamīm ibn Zayd al-Anṣārī) was a companion of Muhammad and Muslim saint (walī) whose dargah (shrine) is located in Kovalam, Tamil Nadu, India. Al-Ansari was born in Medina, Saudi Arabia and participated in the Battle of Badr).
In 624 AD, Malik Ibn Deenar and 12 of his trade associates landed in Kerala. Their mission was not just trade but to propagate Islam in other parts of the world. The delegation consisted of Sharaf Ibn Malik, his brother Malik Ibn Deenar and his nephew Malik Ibn Habeeb Ibn Malik.
Julaybib (ra)
He is a companion who is not that well known, but was beloved to the Prophet (saw). He was ridiculed and shunned from society due to his outward appearance. No one was aware of who his mother or father was, and this was detrimental in a time when importance was placed on one's lineage.
Hanzalah's body was washed by angels. Muslims, who learned from the Prophet, gave him the nickname "Ghaseel al-Malāʾika" (the person washed by angels) because he was martyred before he could make wudu.
According to Muhammad's wife 'Aisha, he saw Jibril twice “in the form that he was created” and on other occasions as a man resembling Dihya ibn Khalifa al-Kalbi, an extraordinarily handsome disciple of Muhammad.
ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAwf (Arabic: عبد الرحمن بن عوف) ( c. 581-654) was one of the companions of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad. One of the wealthiest among the companions, he is known for being one of the ten to whom Paradise was promised according to Sunni Muslims.
Ubayd Allah ibn Jahsh ibn Ri'ab (Arabic: عُبَيْد اللَّه ٱبْن جَحْش ٱبْن رِئَاب, romanized: ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Jaḥsh ibn Riʾāb; c. 588-627) was a contemporary of the Islamic prophet Muhammad who converted from Islam to Christianity following his migration to Abyssinia in around 615 CE.
The movement was never viewed adversely by the government.” But Tablighi Jamaat has been banned in some central Asian countries such as Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, whose governments see Tablighi's puritanical preachings as extremist. Now Saudi Arabia has joined the list.
Theologically, the Tablighi Jama'at movement is closely tied to the scriptural, conservative Deobandi school of Sunni Islam, which emphasizes strict adherence to religious orthodoxy. Most of the religious scholars and leaders associated with the Tablighi Jama'at are followers of Deobandism
