Chapter 2: The Numbers: Get in Order!

Welcome! My name is Toby D Morris, and I’m the author, illustrator, and publisher of The Numbers!
Today I’m reading Chapter 2 from the first book in the series, The Numbers: Get in Order! Originally, each chapter within the book was intended to be a book by itself, aimed at younger children, until I decided to expand and upscale each story before putting them together (in order, of course) and creating The Numbers: Get in Order!
I based 2’s character on the importance of the numerical number 2. As we know, the number 2 is a pair of 1s added together. Most of us enjoy being in pairs as this means we can share and enjoy someone else’s company. So, it felt natural for 2 to be the first number to express kindness, and a number who loves to share! 2 is such a great friend to have as well as a great number to count on!
