Hello from Ottawa 🇨🇦 you don't need a large wind to sail. Remember that's what the sail is for to capture the slightest breeze to glide you along. Perhaps once your books are recognized more you'll be able to purchase an electronic motor before the summer begins. Good luck in your new abode. Kat

Thanks, Kat from Ottawa. My understanding is that the sails are some of the heaviest available which, I believe, makes it a little harder to inflate in a light wind. But I'm also learning about trimming. I'm looking forward to the news season and putting some stuff int practice - there's plenty of room for improvement. You never know what the future will bring. If the books become mega successful, I'll likely do a major renovation of the boat. Cheers

Lovely when the breeze just about filled in. One of my favourite sails. The wind at the north end of Arran is fluky. Pity about the Diesel bilges, hope you got that sorted easily.

Very peaceful and stress free sailing. Bilges have been sorted - I'll explain in the next video.

Hey, buddy. There is something quite special with that silent sailing. Hope to get the cruising chute up in the summer.

The winter has been windy but mild in Scotland. I've got some plans for summer sailing - I'll probably talk about this in the next video

Brilliant, the sailing sent me to sleep which was blissful. I had to watch again - many thanks

😂 Yeah, but was definitely the least challenging trip I had done since leaving Southampton.

It was very peaceful. I'm looking forward to a bit more of that in the summer - less hacking 30 not 60 miles a day, and more hill out cruising - and maybe a couple of crazy days in-between.

@@Sailingpilotchris sadly, no sailing this year. Life got in the way and the boat needs a little work done on it. Nothing too structural but it does include a top end engine rebuild. Hoping to be out on the water around the Highlands and Islands in 2025

The landscape is similar to here in Newfoundland. Stay safe from the east coast of Canada 🇨🇦

I'll be heading to St Kilda in the summer (30 miles west of the Outer Hebrides) - it's the closest I can get to Canada without leaving UK waters. I've not been too New Poundland, but I'd imagine that the Hebrides and the outer Scottish islands are similar too - I'll be there this summer.

HI. Apo0logies for the long delay. Life got in the way and the boat hasn't left the Scottish marina all summer. Doing some renovation work on it now and plan to sail the Highlands and Islands next year

@@youtubelivingonasailboat_1year I think there are two ways to go. AlluringArtic beautifully shot infrequent and brilliant or Sam Holmes Sailing which are frequent with reassuringly low production values. Both are great. Keep it up love the content.
