Are deflects banned? Edit: nvm. I think they just prefer to not use it often, but repels/parry in this game is quite broken.

How is it broken? Its a read, if you parry and they do nothing your leaving yourself open to a huge combo. There's broken shit in this game but parry isn't one of them. Without it the top tiers would be way more powerful.

@@aramondehasashi3324 idk if it's just me but you can telegraph an enemy's move, specifically those B inputs. There's at least a fraction of a second (but I know it's still super quick, but not as quick as A of course) before the hit connects which is why I think the parry is broken. You can anticipate the attack. I realize this when fighting an AI Setsuna. Whenever I execute A-A-B, the AI is programmed to expect the B and successfully parry my third hit. This is doable for players. The repel if lenient. But I understand what you meant with reads. Yeah, if you're really good at it then repels are pretty useful. Just my take.

@@popgas3821 It is not broken when it comes to deflecting speed chain, it is simply to not get pressured down with safe and cheap stuff. To tell you why, it's not like a chess game where you can take turns to attack. You find a good chances to anticipate and attack the opponent. Remember, deflecting in this game is a high risk/high reward thing and it's useful in a very handicapped matchup.

@@therm0alfred448 👍point taken, I always saw it under the perspective of perfectly anticipating attacks, but that’s not always the case for your opponents, hence not exactly broken on its own.
