is that really realistic in a world like SWTOR though? in a world where medicine way stronger than our own exists, in a world where sith can stay young by few magic tricks? also not all of our characters are necesserally in 7.0 your character will look this way if you start a new padawan or acolyte which makes zero sense, i personally have characters whos age i vary from 22 to 60, different characters are different ages, this is yet another reason they should add age slider, let us pick our own characters age, simple as that i mean zash was able to completly alter her looks, lana is as pretty as ever at 40 and you have theron who looks early 30ish at 40ish, why does this brutal realism only apply to our poor character? only other character i can think of got this brutal of age treatment was satele in kotfe/et.

Btw, if it's just aging and at the start of the game we will look young, that's fine, but I think it should be optional like dark side corruption is optional xD

I absolutely LOVE the new character modernizations but I hear players' gripes of "that's not the character I created". They need to make it an option and give players free character customizations for a while after this launches to make everyone as happy as possible(?)...

That is true! I dont mind it at all, and I am glad there's a fix incoming for the shadders. Also, people are just going to have to get used to it. Unless there's an option to revert back like WoW has, so those who like the smooth Barbie face can stay.

Having an age slider would be best I think, not everyone wants old characters, it's a fantasy world not everyone ages normally, It will feel out of place creating new characters with them now looking older too idk

I want to thank the devs for upgrading the game but i'm REALLY SAD that they're going to change the Clone Wars cartoon graphics style. I hope that they're going to give us the choice between the old ones and the new ones. 😞🙏 Personally I absolutely love the old graphics but i understand that people like the new realistic ones. I just wish that we're going to have a choice just like WoW. (Hopefully they'll see the message i'll send them🤞)

An age slider would be nice, since in some cases the age of the character appearing older could make sense. Has been a good amount of years since the Origin story, right?

Finally my character can match my old, wrinkled soul. It should totally be an option though. Also does it affect companions? Quinn is in his 50s as of Kotet. Probably the oldest romancible companion

it's subtle, very subtle, but based on graphical modernization I've seen in other games, it all kinda goes back to the main root issue with Swtor, game engine, perhaps it's a hope, give something a fresh lick of paint and see if people respond to the new shiny, I really hope people do pick the game up and learn how epic the story is and perhaps devs decide to start doing some of the proper harder things that need doing

Great content as always, Boomy. I'm with you. I kinda like the idea of our characters showing some age. The game is over 10 years old. Admittedly, I haven't been playing in a while -- got back into WoW. It's almost as easy to level a character in WoW as in SWTOR, until SWTOR busts out the double-XP events.

It all makes sense now. Ability pruning was just Bioware's way of saying early onset dementia is setting in. Not only did my characters forget their abilities, but now there's an in-universe explanation for it. We're all actually old as fuck in game lol. I'm surprised that our characters haven't seemed to age at all since the day they walked out of the prologue. I think the fact they never age after decades(?) of saving the galaxy is a bit emersion breaking - perhaps they should chuck in an age slider?

@@Assassino275 That was 5 years, but they've been around a while I'm pretty sure - longer than 5 years. An educated guess as to the chronological age of the characters - they're about 30-35 years old currently as of 7.5 (if they were 20 at the start of their stories), so they'd start to get some aging going on or at least distinctive differences to their 20 year old version of themselves. Probably not to the level shown in the video, but enough to know they've grown up.

I recently went back to Swtor after a break but if this is forced on us, I think my cancel my sub and uninstall. I hate the new look, I don't mind if it is a choice option. I hope it isn't forced on us because it looks bad at lvl 1. when they are supposed to be late teens to early 20's. I really hope it is just a bug, but if it wasn't it was a bad idea.

I think it's amazing! I wish swtor youtubers were a little more positive about these updates. KZbinrs are the ones breaking the game by trying to profit off bagging out broadsword's hard work. Personally I am very grateful and excited for all the new features coming in 7.6!!!

I think the older look is fine I mean my characters from start to finish are what...a dozen years older yet haven't aged a day? I don't see the issue.

I didn't have much issue with the head/face, it's the whole body that I got an issue with. For males why is the solar plexus so huge? An updated body slider would be preferred. But aside than that, a total overhaul of the leveling gear from level 1-50 tho I do believe I heard they said all the old armors couldn't be replaced because of how deep rooted they are in swtors code, maybe a just some updated textures for them? I never look at the environment of an old mmo, the armors and weapons and vehicles man update all of them.

Here there is not much to say in the graphics section of the game, there is nothing to do everything is due to the limitations of having chosen this graphics engine one of the things that does not help SWTOR is this graphics engine the limitations are clear so let's not wait Miracles are realistic, that's what it is so graphically the game will not evolve beyond the limitations of this engine... sorry

Jesus, the last face on those sliders is one I use, holy fuck they did her dirty, hope they fix it. I ain't bringing even 1$ into the game if it stays that way xD just give me 6.0 singleplayer edition at this point and I'm good xD

The world view changes look awesome, looks very nice. As for the toons go I think they look good specially the eyes look good and plus for me all my toons wear a mask so this wouldn't affect me personally but I do understand other players could be a downer for them. The plus side of things is the Devs are on this and have reply to the reason and sounds like there will be a fix for it so thats good news.

I haven't been fallowing news about swtor for a while, but I hope they do something with some of the fighting animations. I know the old ravage and master strike are dead and never coming back, but what they've replaced them with, especially ravage, look absolutely awful. Sith warrior in general used to have an amazing, tactile feel to it, and nearly every swing your character took looked like a devastating killing blow. But now the character looks like some feeble old fool who can barely hold a lightsaber thanks to them constantly "improving" its fight animations.

This "upgrade" looks shitty in terms of enviroments as well. Nar Shadda atmosphere is destroyed, it's no longer toxic and opressive, it's boring and blank and unimaginative. Korriban, all of the sudden instead of brutalist statues of the slaves is full of anabolic bodybuilders stuck in the middle of walls. It sucks out the soul of some iconic locations and is lazy.

Its a fake controversy. The issues on PTS arise from a shader bug that's getting fixed. The new faces look better and have more detail.

Well, I don't see it as that tragic. Of course, as soon as you add skin texture, a face automatically looks older, but whether it looks old because of that, I find that for many faces this isn't the case. The issue is, we've now been accustomed to this plastic Barbie look for over a decade, where you could set someone to look very young or very old, but something in the mid-30s? Out of place. This means that even a 25-year-old woman looks old next to a Barbie doll. In other words, these small irregularities on the skin make someone look older because we associate "super smooth" only with little children. But once someone is older, the skin changes, and in this way, our eyes and thus our brain can also roughly gauge the age of the person. So, I didn't find it that dramatic. Even though I believe this update comes simply too late... without significant content, no players will return just to see these, admittedly very nice, graphical updates, including those of the planets.

Not a big deal for me, I'm still confused on the body types, you got skinny, average, ripped and potato. I don't understand why potato exist, sorry for those who choose it, not my thing. But I will say it again, been saying it since I beta tested this game, why do all the planets have knee deep water. In a galaxy far away where water wont go above your knees, where flying your ship is on rails, where 6 ships exist. What I want is new features, the dynamic events sound cool, but let me swim, let me fly my ship freely(not the PVP thing), give me a new class with a new story for them. They are just missing the mark, purple speeders and bird feather armor are not enough. Oh well at least its still going, I finally getting around to finishing everyone's story.

As a beta tester you should know better. First the body type. There are people who want a "funny" aproach to the game and choose the fat body type (some to pose as Baras the Wide). Second the water feature almost nobody gives a fuck. It is not necessary for the game. They are barely adding new story and you want them to add swimming? Same goes for flying the ship freely. It would take them a long time to code everything. The game would be a mess with many bugs. Why would they waste their time and risk breaking the game for such insignificant features? Also the new class will not be made. You have any idea how much work that would be? Voice acting, new 50 lvl story (they cant even make the current one which is for all classes) not to mention all the pvp balancing they would have to consider when making the abilities. Also consider the budget and small number of devs. You need to be more realistic...

it has detail... eyes ...lips ..looks authentic af. coherent...face parts have detailed lines, like an actual human have. no human lips were like before... laid out flat and without the depth lines and like a videogame.. it looks like an actual Human ( ''race'' ) I like that very much...i appirciate the details... more realistic and coherent to the real world... You should see the reactions on the reddit fourms. People are having meltdowns, kinda for no reason. This isn't game breaking. And we are lucky they even did this to begin with. It's probably a bug. But the number of cry babies over there is absolutely absurd.
