This is a fantastic talk by both presenters. It really shows the amount of work that goes into pushing the edge of technique, from a high level perspective down to the deep dive. Thank you for posting this, Gnomon.

Kratos may have lost a lot of height due to the blade of olympus going through his spine.Yes it healed BUT the first time it was by a primordial titan,Kratos always lacked abilities and was given magic,his main power is brute strength.Its entirely possible his own healing ability "curse" is far less potent than Gaias healing power.Canonically the blade grows more powerful all the time when stabbing and killing,the blade Kratos used at the end of gow3 was far more magically powerful than the start of gow2,it's known that Kratos has trouble fully healing from some godly attacks and is left with scars always.

Nothing implies that he suddenly grew shorter because of the Blade of Olympus. No canon explanation exists to support your claim.

@@vergil2067he definitely is confirmed in the comic books it’s just as the video says it’s to make him closer to his actor height and look more realistic. also their numbers are wrong that’s 7’7 not 7’6 there based on his 2.35 meters and 6’4 isn’t 2 meters either

'But how do we get that MotionBuilder data back in Maya?' - Why would you do that? Just make that FACS rig in MoBu, finish everything in MoBu and export directly to game (and never go 'back' to Maya). ;)
