The issue is that curling her real hair to that level 8x/week would damage her hair way too much. In addition, wigs let shows do all sorts of crazy quick changes (especially in the ensemble). It would also take way too much time if they had to do every actors actual hair for each performance. In a broadway big budget show, the wigs are just much easier and better.

Even if you have natural curls you would still have to wear a wig. Wigs are used because hair is unpredictable, you can't have the exact same hair and hair style 8 times a week, also hair dressers don't have that much time to get your hair ready.

101kagaminemari people don’t have the same hair so often so theatre is trying to say a character has the same hair all the time so now we don’t believe the character isn’t wigged as no 1 can surely keep curled hair daily
