Not really rare; tbqh majority of DMC fans prefer English voice even if they're a bunch of weabs like me. Most likely because we got used to the English voice, but imho it's more on the 'immersion' of the game itself... game is set in a western(ish) land, so make your characters speak the language there. Personally I would prefer local voice based on the story settings than another language dub, unless the local voice-over is completely shiet. But really, 90% of my reason is that Dante and Vergil can only be Reuben and Dan, no one else.

Reuben Langdon is Legend. He voiced and mocap Dante. He also mocap Chris Redfield and fighting stunts for Joel Miller in The Last of Us. Despite of some disappointments of DMC5, I'm still glad Reuben Langdon still the best Dante.

Hirata's voice as Vergil was actually good in it's own way if you don't compares it to the English voices, although I personally finds his voices on UMvC3 and DMC4 sounds much better than DMC5 one (At least Hirata's voice in those games doesn't sounds too out of place and don't sounds too much like Sanji lol). But yeah, Dan fits Vergil much better than Hirata does and he gets Vergil's character perfectly.

Just wanted to point out that the name of one scan model for Trish (2:12) has a misspelling in the video. It's Ariana Diamant (Not Damant). Also, Joey Camen reprised the roles of Morrison and Goliath (a big monster). But both those characters needed two different actors for the Japanese dub (1:26 & 3:25) Quite amazing. Some notable achievements from Joey Camen included voicing Monster Bang in the Space Jam movie and Bosco in many episodes of Telltale's Sam and Max adventure video game series.

Well it is the OG language for the series like most Capcom. If it's JP from the start then things might change. Although I kinda say JP did great at some characters and especially demons. But EN Vergil and Dante was right, Capcom really helped these two actors established what Dante and Vergil is. JP dub only became available when DMC 4 and 5 came out older titles they're English

I finds Morikawa's Dante voice is much worse than Hirata lol, he sounds even more unfitting (In term of appearance, his voice is just fine) and his voice is too deep for Dante. Which is weird because Morikawa can actually made a higher pitch voices without any problem.
