This was a cool idea. Maybe have a small chance that any one chat message can get through like 1 in 1k or whatever works so theres a bit of random spicy tossed in on top of the hand picked messages. It worked great though.

Make it a probability thing. The more someone types the same thing the more likely it is to show up. It'd be a mix of the old format plus the occasional less caveman-speak. Problem with being completely random is that you're going to get chatters who aren't role playing

Like the guy above me said, being completely random will also get messages the aren't roleplay related, besides 1 in 1000 seems way to small for a guy who gets around 5 to 20 thousand views per stream. I rather go back to the old format than whatever you're suggesting

If I'm interpreting this correctly you're suggesting it should be like the old system but you can also choose the sentences to say. Try thinking of how this would work for a second, The old format requires the majority of the chat to actively spam something collectively and the chat moves really fast when there's a lot of messages. It'll be pretty hard to choose a coherent sentence in time for the situation when the entirety of the twitch chat is going at mach 2 Besides the people who talk in sentences here are most likely not roleplaying with the rest of the chat

Yeah sure all valid points I guess. #1 after posting this I immediately realized this is an unofficial vid post channel so its kind of talking to the wrong person anyway. #2 I like the idea of the hand selected messages and so I think having very rare chances of messages randomly getting in is best so if 5 to 20k people show up and they all can say things an unlimited # of times 1 in 1k messages seemed reasonable. How many messages do you think happen in chat in a single stream in a few hours. If its like 20k+ messages thats 20 times a rando comment slips in among the hand picked. If its rare people won't count on their messages getting read so it won't change what people are saying in chat just having the chance there. If its frequent people will attempt to spam to say things.

@@nightfr09 thats true, but i wasn't trying to be edgy. i completely understand where they were coming from, however twitch will even ban people who try to self-identify as autistic in their profile as "autism" is a flagged word. weird how they love self-identification and put trans / people who identify differently on the front page, yet even if a person says they're autistic in their own profile, you can be banned. i understand they might have thought i was trying to be edgy, however i did not mean it like that and no mods messaged me to double check if i was joking or not. still love his stream wasnt his fault.

Tbh you probably got auto moderated by the bot. They’ve had to make the bot stricter with more people coming in since it’s harder for the actual mods to keep track of, especially on streams where the chat is moving so fast that you can hardly keep up with it. The bot makes mistakes sometimes but it’s better than nothing, y’know? Plus if it was an actual mod I understand why they did it, I’ve been there when they had to deal with people making autism jokes and spamming. Sometimes you just don’t have the time to message everyone to check if they’re joking or not
