“Pre-condition to maximize your range so you have no impact to your range” - right because as soon as you start moving the battery doesn’t get cold. Oh you’re going to heat it you say? So what’s heating it when you’re driving down the road? Ahh… discharging the battery to generate heat to heat the battery so it can discharge more eficiently. I have been driving an electric car for two winters and preconditioning every time, and let me tell you, STILL a 25% to 30% range reduction.

If you take a Ford Explorer EV on a Round the world trip your Destined to FAIL… Africa has NO EV chargers , South America has No EV chargers, Your going too be very Cold in the Winter due to not being able to Put on your heater in the EV, Because you will need as much Battery power as possible to get you from A to B, Anyone who has traveled the World will agree with this comment, Get a Camel Trophy 4x4 Diesel. Or a Ineos Grenadier fully kitted out. A Ford Explorer EV will use a Lot of Power when fully kitted out giving you limited range to get from A to B…. I know your being sponsored by Ford and they will monitor you every step of the way. But thats not the point of travelling around the world, You have to be Self reliant and not baby sat by a Billion Dollar Company it doesn’t count, So do your self a favour and drop FORD.
